Don’t you have the impression that you are being hyperbolic? While using the scythe he is still using curved blades and still using his acrobatic style so how exactly it is opposite ? Furthermore he had a few weeks to be used to the scythes so let’s not act that if he was totally new to them.

This does not address the point I raised.

You yourself said that piercing attack are not his fighting style, are you coming back on that statement?
And if yes do you think that Killer can produce as more strength with the rotating blades than when he grabbed the scythe with two hands?

So let me get this straight : you are comparing Zoro using two pieces of wood together from the get go when he is a 3 blades users to Killer using curved blades while keeping his acrobatic fighting style when he is a curved blades users which has a acrobatic fighting style?

You do realize that the scythes are the same kind of weapon as the rotating blades but they are longer and you do realize that nunchaku are not the same kind of weapon as sword?

Finally you do realize that Zoro who never use a scythe in his life was still able to use it with efficiency? So what do you try to defend here?
That Killer is so inapt as a fighter that even tho he was using the scythes for multiple weeks he was as much skilled with them than Zoro using nunchaku and that Zoro is a freaking beast because he was able to use the scythe, with his mouth, with efficiency at his first try.
Is that what you are trying to defend here?

Why he didn´t say both Kaido+Big mom? I think the alliance don´t know that Big mom is right now in Onigashima, I check up all the last four chapters and not in single word they mentionend about Big mom beeing in Onigashima.
They still speak about to defeat Kaido, probably they don´t know that Big mom and her force are right now in Onigashima.

If that's really the case they are truly marching to a severe beating. In that case the fact that Big Mom is changing right now and that her children are not at the party yet may maintain the illusion for a short bit and then there will be the "Oh Crap!" when they show up.

its pretty much the same as the spoilers we got
Who's who : " if queen suddenly dies, who you guys think will replace him as Ookanban"
Black Maria : " Do you think it's you?"
Drake : " I am not interested".
it is kinda confusing whether drake responded to Black Maria or to WW, i think both cases are possible. After all, who's who is asking all of them who they think will replace Queen if he dies.

Black Maria's dialogue could be a direct reply to WW like asking him back "you think it's you?" but it could also be directed at drake. I personally think the former is more plausible given we dont see her asking drake that question on panel (we only get to see her hands holding the pipe).

Drake's answer could be just him setting it straight right from the start that he want none of that. Like he doesnt care, one thing he knows is that it's not gonna be him bcs he's not interested.

The french translation was pretty similar. It's what confused me as well. Not sure if Black Maria was replying to Who's Who or she redirected the discussion towards Drake, with Drake's reply being even more confusing than in the english scanlation. I hope it's cleared in the viz translation, but i wonder if Oda left it open on purpose lol

Not gonna give my opinion on some of the details of the chapter until cupboard scans release their version or I read the raws but it was a fun chapter. Was expecting Onigashima to be dark and bland but was pleasantly surprised to see just how beautiful as it was. I mean it's still dark but looks kinda like a demon wonderland of sorts...lolz. The fushimiinari references were also pretty neat, with the fox statues and the multiple ascending tori gates ^^. Looking forward to seeing more of the scenery particular Kaidou's castle. Not a fan of the anime but I'm looking forward to seeing Onigashima animated.

If I had one gripe with the the first few pages of the chapter which focused on the alliance, it'd be that there wasn't really any or rather not enough tension in those panels given how insanely dangerous what they are currently doing is. Most of them were carefree/relaxed with the exception of Law and maybe Kin. Feels like it was a wasted opportunity for some really awesome intense panels as the setup was there. Like you have the alliance having to go through the mouth of that giant demon skull to get into Kaidou's castle and then there was the bit on the Samurai destroying their ships so they have no way of returning. Don't know if any of you have read Berserk, but there was a similar scene to this when the band of the hawk challenged an army several times stronger than theirs (can't remember what the name of the army was) and Miura really delivered the feeling that feeling of tension through those panels.

The bits with the beast pirates was pretty fun, Queen was hilarious as always :p and it was nice to get introduced to the structure of the beast pirates. Waiters -> Pleasures -> Gifters -> Elite Gifters (Regular Headliner) -> Tobi Roppo (Top Headliners) -> Numbers and then we have the calamities and then Kaidou it seems. The Numbers are still shrouded in mystery but I reckon Oda didn't show them so as to not take the focus off of the Tobbi Roppo. Strength~wise, they might not necessarily be stronger than the F6 but feels like they have more relevance. I mean they were part of Kaidou's crew 20 years ago so it does make sense.

Lastly, the Tobbi Ropo. As opposed to my initial impression when I first saw the spoilers, they all have pretty nice designs. With the most interesting bit being the fact that they all possess horns with the exception of Drake, so they might all be half breeds of the oni clan or something and share some relation to Kaidou. For example Sasaki could be a half oni half fishman, Black Maria a half oni half giant etc. @sanjikun was it? wrote a theory on Oro not to long ago iirc about Onigashima potentially being an island of oni and I'm starting to buy into it. Onigashima looks like a demon liar and the Numbers look like oni incarnate. The Tobi Roppo also look like Oni.

Also from the way the Tobi Roppo are designed I'm pretty confident that Sasaki is a Triceratops and that Black Maria is a Titanoboa. Not really sure about Ulti and Who's who tho. Don't even know where to start with Ulti..lolz but Who's who might be some sort of prehistoric lion given his hair style. Gotta say tho I really like the Ulti's elegant design from the way she's dressed to the way she sits. Not a lot of female characters with that kinda style in OP I feel. As opposed to her looks she might end up having a really savage Zoan. Would be over the moon is she turns out to be a sabre cat:steef:

Feel like it was a good introductory chapter to Onigashima but overall not great. Better than average tho, so 6.5~ish/10

Overall an average chapter, I think. Not too much happened but it had some nice characterisation. I liked it when Kinemon said that they don't need ships to return. To him and those who waited 20 years it really is now or never. I fear this might cause some tension later if the plan fails and they have to flee though. Franky reacting was also nicely IC.

Kinemon changing everybody's clothes makes sense. Oda seems to really like to change the outfits of his characters. Luffy and Zoro's scars and Nami's tatoo not showing is a detail. At least Oda didn't draw zoro with Luffy's scar again lol.

Queen is funk as always. Apoo playing music also was a nice touch. I overall like the design of the flying six, especially Uruti's. Also speaking ill of Kaido, this gal has some nerve.

Kinemon ask the same question which I make in my first comment, why the beast pirates didn´t get a report yet? Or did Kanjuro directly fly to Kaido and Orochi to tell them about the attack? In that case as Kinemon tell, the attack must start soon.
I expect one-two more build up chapter for Big mom troup+Kaido crew and some funny scenes and also some reveal and then the war gonna start. I think the war starting at least in 3-4chapters.

Because that he speak about defeating Big mom later after he first take out Kaido.
Just look at the plan and conversation between the alliance in the last four chapters, duo they ever mentionend something about Big mom? Did they mentionend her during revealing the plan? Didn´t you kinda feel it strange that the alliance just speak about Kaido and only him? I mean someone as Big mom should complete ruine their plan yet they decide to going on, Law didn´t even said something about Big mom, no one did. Probably they think Big mom is still not in Onigashima and the alliance coming open up later? I don´t really know but it is kinda strange that no one mentionend anything about Big mom. Not even Nami,Chopper or anyone.
