The part about sinking their own ships, I remember reading about the New World famous explorer Herman Cortez, that when he and his crew arrived somewhere in the South Americas, he then ordered the torching down of their own ship! It’s a way to ready yourself with the proper mindset for the challenges to come; in a mission like that if you’re to succeed you have to have the proper attitude, where you go in with the intent to follow through: all in or nothing! There’s no turning back, no exit strategy. It’s epic as shit and I can’t help but think that that’s maybe where Oda got the idea of sinking their ships from

I think the beast pirates hierarchy is like this:

Waiters - lowest level
Pleasures
Gifters
Headliners
Flying 6 - highest position under the calamities.
All star - highest level

Then we have a special force where others can't obtain.

Numbers - The monsters of Onigashima
Superstar - The leader of the Numbers which is reserved for Kaido's son.

So all in all Kaido has two forces, his Pirate crew led by the All Stars and his personal Army led by his son.

His son would be an alliance leader like Orochi & Big Mom.

Kanjuro not showing up is also suspicious, Kaido's son could have intercepted him and got the information first and he has his own agenda.

Law has gone with 5 scabbards to the back entrance while denjiro and kinemon both lead the troupes through the mountains..
Kinemon's resolve is greatly highlighted this chapter when he is ok with the alliance ships being drowned,maybe indicative of his fate at the end of the arc.He says the alliance is at a number disadvantage in a ratio of 1 vs 5 implying there are going to be many fights gor the important protagonists in this war(zoro/sanji/jinbei/scabbards and Sns) contrary to what most beleive,we are probably not getting any team fights when we are already at a number disadvantage.
Contrary to many people,i actually like the beast pirates outfits for the alliance members and it will allow them to reach the castle undetected.
Queen is always the mvp of the beast pirates personality-wise,and him managing the party with Apoo as Dj was cool.
Tobbi Roppo aren't that hype to me aa opposed to the overhype people gave them last chapter.Their designs aren't that great to me and i still prefer those of the All Stars.
Personality wise,i have a preference for Who's Who who seem to be a total badass putting page1 and his friend Ulti where they belong in "Bratland".
Hope next chapter fights and battles start.

Nice to see Usopp finally do something useful instead of cowering on the Sunny

The bit about the ships breaking as they approach Onigashima adds a little more gravity to what (I feel) has been a somewhat silly arc...now that they’re at ground zero, it’s nice to see the alliance appreciate the full weight of what they’re there to do.

Man, if we’d seen Kid and Killer in the Beast Pirate garb in the spoilers, nobody would have given a shit about the OG Trio in the same

i mean punk hazard was 300+chapters ago i don't thinkhe made up his mind about the designs also the manga is black and white maybe he isn't the one who chose the coloring for these characters since they had no importance

First of all , the Onigashima panel is top tier.It gave me some really dark vibes.

At last Usopp did something , it's been quite a while.Same goes for Kin' Emon with his secret technique.Everyone looks badass in their costumes lol.Too sad they will be torn apart in the next chapters.

I also think Oda did a great job with the Tobi Roppo designs and characters.Even P1 looks kinda badass and stoic in his human form with his arms holding his legs.
Sasaki reminds me of Shiryu a lot because of these eyes and nose.
Then you have that huge girl , Black Maria.Is she a giant? I doubt that.But she is just huge lol.
Loved Who's Who's name too.Oda always thinks of innovative and fitting names for his characters.

Anyway , is it just me or do the beasts pirates seem massively better and stronger than the BM ones?
I will make a thread about that.

That's a possibility.
Another detail about Cortez sinking his own ship was that there were a lot of tensions between him and the governor of Cuba, Diego Velasquez de Cuelluar, and that it may have been to have an excuse to not come back to Cuba should the governor recall him here. Cortez's fear were exact since Diego tried to cancel his expedition and to have him imprisonned for overstepping his orders.

Don’t think so. Jinbe had just said some lines as well, and I don’t think any samurai, including Kinemon, are familiar enough with the Yonko system to refer to them as Yonko. Kinemon and company have only just arrived to the future, the Yonko didn’t exist back then, and Wano is a closed country so nobody else would have known. Plus the “don’t get caught in doubt” statement preceded it, and that sounds like something Jinbe would say (he said something similar on WCI).
