This late in the series, the next crewmate's ship role should have been foreshadowed, hinted, or in hindsight understood from character perspective.
- Captain: Luffy was aiming to surpass Captain Shanks.
- First Mate Swordsman: The first person Luffy recruited. Similar with Roger's First Mate Swordsman. Luffy is not good with swordmanship.
- Navigator: Koby tells Luffy he will need a navigator. Luffy and Zoro get lost at sea. Zoro compliments Nami' s navigation before they met.
- Sniper: Yasopp was in Chapter 1. Luffy being crewmates with a child who's father is in Luffy's favorite crew may not be obvious but makes sense. Luffy has Pistol Punches.
- Cook: Luffy likes to eat plus mentions wanting a cook multiple times.
- Doctor: A necessity. Crew was bound to get hurt and sick. Tried recruiting Crocus and Kureha.
- Archeologist: A necessity for plot progression to get to One Piece. The History of the Void Century is the mystery a historian would unravel.
- Shipwright: Someone has to fix the boat better than Usopp. Usopp was adamant about that before Franky.
- Musician: Luffy only wanted a musician since... near the beginning of the series! With an afro!! And friends with Laboon!!!
- Helmsman: Jinbe became more obvious throughout the series. His ship position... not so much. Helmsman. Lifeguard. Quartermaster. Fireguard. Bodyguard. Etc. But only Helmsman was in an intro box via Jesus Burgess.
A lookout role has been shown in action but never mentioned in an intro box. Why? Well what does a lookout do? A big responsibility is to make sure the ship doesn't get unexpected damaged or get caught in looming danger. A lookout in a sense defends the ship. A Ship Guardian of sorts. The crew lost a ship before in Merry. And Sunny has been attacked on multiple occasions. A lookout being a subset under the role Ship Guardian is my interpretation.
True
Pedro is the only one worthy. Dead or Alive.
