Questions & Mysteries Which character will be the first one to destroy Lunarian defense?

Gol D. Roger

The headcanon is saying "lunarian cancels coa and protects the devil fruit".

Haki bypass the devil fruit. It was pretty obvious in alabasta.

Haki doesn't bypass the devil's fruits. It's just effective on them. Two different things.

Mr1's fruit is a non-factor for his defense.
If it's a non-factor, it makes the whole point of giving the fruit meaningless.

No he didn't :catsweat:
Zoro never broke King's defense in flame mode & outright states this chapter that the Lunarians are practically indestructible in Flame Mode.
Some of us (me included) assumed he could given the dialogue in the King fight even though he didn't actually break through it throughout the course of the the fight but Zoro's statement in this chapter confirms that he can't.

He says they’re almost invulnerable, meaning he knows they can be damaged which the dialogue in the King fight supports

Almost invincible. If King's defense was almost invincible then it's self explanatory, Zoro saw the limits of that defense.

Fair on the bolded bit but doesn't really prove that he can even if he suspects/thinks that it isn't 100% impossible.
We didn't see him do it in the King fight & given his statement this chapter I don't think he can but on the off-chance that he's indeed able to break through it, we'd know through this fight with S-Hawk.

He already knows he can damage Lunarians based on him making fun of King for blocking which paralleled Luffy making fun of Kaido for the same thing.

And nothing has changed since then, King didn’t deny the fact that Zoro could hurt his flame form, nor did he tank any of Zoro’s attacks in flame form after that.

So there’s no reason to think Zoro’s opinion on his ability to hurt Lunarians has changed since he taunted King.

This clash with S-Hawk is just going to be temporary and he probably won’t even use advanced CoC for plot reasons, so it’s not going to prove much.

Bruh...
So you are saying that even though we never actually seen Zoro break through the Lunarian defense in flame-on mode, and that very Zoro says that the Lunarian's are practically invincible this chapter, and is also in a rush to finish this fight but doesn't outright break through their defense in flame-on mode but rather opts to defeat them in flame off mode, it doesn't prove that he can't? 💀

Do you think Oda drew this scene for shits and giggles?

Why didn’t Oda just have Zoro call them invincible, why did he specifically refer to them as practically / almost invincible? That dialogue alone confirmed the fact that Zoro knows he can hurt them.

When you start answering a question with question, more often than not, it means you don't have an answer for it and yes It really doesn't :catsweat:
- Could be that Zoro suspects that the Lunarian invulnerability isn't full proof and can actually be bypassed with AP over a certain threshold given King's behavior in their fight.
- Could simply be that Zoro doesn't believe that any one thing can be invincible given he doesn't really believe in higher beings like gods etc hence why he said "practically invincible" as opposed to simply saying "invincible".

Zoro has the perfect opportunity to actually prove your claim in this fight. If he doesn't it simply means he's unable to, it's as simple as that.

You just asked the same question I already answered lmfao

So you are just speculating and have no answer for why Oda drew the exact same scene of Luffy taunting Kaido after he started blocking his attacks and Zoro taunting King after he started blocking his attacks.

If Zoro goes into King of Hell mode and fails to damage S-Hawk, then you win. Good thing that will never happen.

Zoro already proved he can bypass Lunarian durability, it’s up to the rest of the Straw Hats to do so now (which they won’t)

Based on how the Zoro vs King fight went, Zoro could harm flame-mode King, we just didn't witness it much since King opted for boost in speed to combat a Zoro that had the means of harming him.

Still though, it is kinda true no one has decimated a flame-on Lunarian/Seraphim on-panel and with Zoro reiterating their near invincibility, it's questionable if Oda will actually show someone best one without them swapping to speed mode to better counteract their getting overwhelmed.

We'll see, I don't expect Luffy to since he has Kizaru on the way so I kinda hope for him switching there rather than taking the accomplishment of wrecking a flame-on Seraphim when we already know with Conqueror's-clad attacks, he could. It's possible no one will if Oda really wants to keep the Seraphim as near-invincible and have each character facing one simply capitalising on their weakness. If someone does beat a Seraphim without their flames swapping at all, that'd be pretty wild.
