I actually expected something like that to happen with Shanks, which makes Oda's handling and treatment of Big Mom (especially her) and Kaido and their crews even worse and more disgusting.

No, Kaidou had better treatment. Kaidou was given worse treatment only against Japanese based characters. Kaidou one shot G4 in Kuri. Also, KOed Luffy 2 times on the rooftop. On the other hand, Big mom had it worse, she didn't even CoC coating which she used against Page one.

Well, Big Mom might not be pathetic, Shanks could just be that much higher. Big Mom can be strong and Shanks could just be dramatically stronger.

Take away shanks and blackbeards crews theyd still lose a 1v2 against kid and law

Neither kid or law stand a chance against the emperors alone but together that isn't the case

Gotta say man this makes no sense after this chapter. If Shanks 1 shot kid, thats anything more than either BM or Kaido could do during Wano to Luffy, Kid and Law. Kid took massive abuse from BM and still didnt lose like this

He was already fighting shanks fleet before Shanks and the Giants showed up. Kid was just bound to fail. His stars just didn't align and his crew is just too weak.
I don't know if SHs crew would win in the same situation but they sure have insane monsters with 4 legit commander caliber people bounties below the Captain. At the very least the new world powers would be wary of engaging them.

Current strawhats imo go at least extreme diff vs the red haired pirates
Tho adding in elbaf shanks just wins easier

Blackbeard pirates are definitely the strongest crew mainly because of kuzan. Only way i can see shanks competing is teaming up with cross guild
