Oda had to brink the blackbeard pirates into egghead cause the upcoming fleet can easily get destroyed by the SHs. lets say luffy vs saturne, zoro vs kizaru. What will stop commender sanji, jimbei, robin, lucci, kaku, stussy, franky from walking on the upcoming fleets? that is where the blackbeard pirates come in. They will help ballance thing out for tension. this will also help give feats to the blackbeard pirates that lack ones and hype them. Every strawhats will get an 1 vs 1 fight this arc. half of them against marines, the other half against blackbeard pirates.

I would start pushing the narrative of one-armed Mihawk being stronger than prime Shanks and use his haki as justification, since that's exactly what they're doing.
