The main character is an impossibly naive, innocent, yet strong guy who helps everyone selflessly.
We literally follow a band of pirates who free countries and make friends with everyone.
The world is governed by slave owning aristocrats with absolute authority.
One of the previous emperors made an entire crew of oprhans and outcasts to form a big family.
One Piece is a series of extremes with incredibly exaggerated depictions of both good and evil and Shanks' kindness just follows suit.

Why would Kid be in the wrong for attacking the fleet of a yonko and battling Yonko?
There's no excuse for weaklings in the sea,
If his fleets are weak, then it is Shanks own issue
Oda wanna paint Kid being super evil for this act so that he justifies Shanks winning in a lame fashion.
Shanks vs Kid is pure fanservice and nonsense
It has no real/deep narrative to why Shanks had to win except him being good guy

Shit was so stupid. Funny how last arc when Kidd is on the “good guys” side, fans seemed to forget that he was even an evil pirate. He just acted more like an anti hero. And that is because he was coincidentally not portrayed in an evil light because he was to be Luffy’s ally.
Now the minute Oda is ready to have Kidd get stomped by the Gary Stu self insert saintly character, Kidd (no longer the MCs ally) is back to being portrayed as the “bad guy” lol. And in this case it’s dumb af, because I don’t even see how blasting some enemy ships down makes him evil. Kidd shouldn’t need to hold back because his enemies are fodder (which was only a cheap tool to wank Shanks. There was no reason to make Shanks fleet weak lol)

This is exactly what everyone was complaining about with Kid in Wano. That he was completely neutered. That Oda was ignoring all that was actually interesting about Kid pre-skip and making him a Luffy cheerleader. He wasn’t even an “anti-hero”, he was just this boring tsundere loudmouth.

Sugoi is acting like he has been very tough at school, a typical keyboard warrior. If you want a realistic story, why read a manga written for 15-year olds? Read something else.
There is no such thing as plot armor. It is a cope people like you use for self consolation. Basically how losers cry on successful person in real world. Luffy so called plot armor was his own karma and deeds.

His defeat is normal and the one shot is absolutely logical considering his powerlevel. His crew is weak as fuck, what the fucking fuck were people expecting him to do against Shanks and his crew lol?
Move on, Kidd isn't an important character, just another side character like Tashigi, Smoothie, Edison, Koala, Kyros, Karasu, or you name it. He is a bum that has accomplished more than he was supposed to do already.
