You want to make a comparison, how about the fact Zoro literally took all of Luffy's pain and placed it in himself, or the fact that Jinbe nearly took a fatal hit to the heart from Akainu's attack.

Maybe FS was useless in this situation, the attack is not visible, so even if luffy saw him self blowing up maybe he didn’t know how to avoid the attack. When we get to know apoo‘s real ability everything should be clear.

and is it only me but that explosion look like it happened inside of luffy body. If it was out side it should’t knock him out.
