It's confirmed, Ifrit Jambe was made for the anime. It was glorious, love how the atmosphere changed after Ifrit Jambe. That should looks hot as a mfer.

Love that the next episode is a recap, it means Toei is taking the endings to these fights very seriously, Zoro vs King is gonna be great.

Power scaling really does completely rot your brain doesn't it?

I think its a big improvement to give Queen more dialogue with Sanji to cement the final character conflict between them before Sanji overcomes Queen one last time, breaking free from the prison of fear he had towards becoming like Germa, and embracing who he truly is.

Thats compelling stuff, more so than "he didn't have lightning" or "he didn't send Queen far enough".

I like that Queen was portrayed as a tough foe that was difficult for Sanji to overcome, not just physically, but also psychologically.
He has a point though, they could have portrayed Queen breathing heavy, bleeding profusely with the dialogue, Queen seemingly shrugged off those IJ hits the same way he did DJ and then started chatting shit. In reality he should have been worried for his life there after feeling those attacks (akin to Jyabura after taking on DJ).

In the manga it was very different, each attack looked like it was tormenting him. They definitely could have done better there.

What does this say about his opponent king who couldn't even sense invisible sanji? who less than a foot away from his left nut?

Didn't king push zoro to extreme diff through coo and speed and mobility?
No? Lanji used the RS' invisibility against King and 10 seconds later he was counting sheep.
All out King and Enma pushed a restricted haki Zoro to extrem diff, no shame in admitting this.

Did you forget that king sneak attacked a nerfed sanji holding momo? And failed to do anything to him?

Then he sent sanji flying. A distracted nerfed sanji.

King also switched from defense mode to speed mode in that sneak and failed

If you don’t gaf about powerscaling everything else would be more enjoyable in one piece
This goes beyond powerscaling, the power up lacks the juice it needs to separate itself from DJ. It makes the progression in the fight non existent, and look like bad writing. Queen treated IJ no different from DJ, and then magically got KOd.

The ending felt anticlimactic because the anime never made it feel like the new mode was all that effective against Queen any more so than DJ, and then he loses out of nowhere. It legit feels like an entire chunk of the fight was skipped (when it wasn't).

We went from Queen laughing off IJ, to being sent to the moon by the same power up. Didn't feel like a natural progression and conclusion. It simply doesn't flow well.

The anime team definitely botched that bit.

It looks like sanji didn't win. It looks like he just sent queen flying. I'd doubt queen was even knocked out if I didn't read the manga

Queen was at his limit, he was chatting shit the whole time.

Exactly, that's the impression it gives.

It just looks like IJ allowed Sanji to kick Queen further than DJ, that's it. Aside from the final BB, a lot of DJ scenes seemed arguably more effective than the new powerup. Which is definitely a mishap.

If I didn't read the manga I would think this fight was another episode deep, it ended way too abruptly given IJ was doing nothing to Queen. In the manga the moment IJ was busted out, Queen was a goner. That was the entire point of the power up.

Ij lacked impact
