Okay this is a pretty baseless theory but these are my thoughts:

Act 3 will end after Zoro finally meets Kaido.
Oda has been saving their encounter for a reason, every single time Kaido has an encounter with one of our side, Zoro somehow misses it. Their meeting will be huge.
It isn't just going to end the Act, it's going to trigger a memory within Zoro.
Zoro was 3 years old 18 years ago when Ringo was destroyed and Shimotsuki Ushimaru is killed.
Seeing Kaido will trigger the memories of Ringo's destruction that Zoro witnessed as a baby.
This will serve as motivation for Zoro in the fight against Kaido.

I don't think it will have anything to do with Zoro. It can involve everybody getting captured and Kaido taking them all back to Flower Capital to be executed publicly like Oden et al. But I am not in favor of that.

Nevertheless, that is probably the direction this is going.

Act 3 will be shorter than act 2 or similar in length
Act 2 was 32 Chapters
Act 3 has 22 chapters currently
I see it going for another 8-10 chapters

The next 8-10 chapters :
981 Kidd vs Apoo, Queen vs X?
982-84 Yamato, Flyers
985 BMP arrives
886-891 Kaido BM crushes alliance... Exécution day set in 3-5 days.. Act 3 ends

A lot of death predictions, I don't think anyone will die. I'm guessing mostly all the samurai gets captured. Only a few escape the island because of the limited ships they have left.

Maybe add an execution to rehash the ones that the good guys failed to prevent during this arc.

Neko returns with Marco for the final act to stave off BM. While the strawhats and any main players left focus purely on Kaido and his crew. Hopefully heavy hitters only, straight 1v1s. No more joking around.

Not gonna lie, I thought that the tragedy this arc had been over and done with the ting with Oden but considering the act is still yet to end, you’ve gotta wonder 🤔. Also I think there are defo signs for another tragedy happening.
- lack of a proper plan and not revising the plan after finding out about the Kaidou/Lilin alliance
- BM Pirates delayed arrival on Onigashima (with the way tings are currently, the alliance are gonna end up being pincered by two Yonkou)
- All of the Samurai having sunk their ships & only the sunny remaining gives off strong vibes that the Samurai are not gonna be returning. Particularly since they have zero means of escape if shit hits the fan and it defo will lolz
- Zoro commenting on just how strong the beast Pirates are in addition to their sheer numbers (when Zoro and Luffy are trying to avoid fights with grifters, you know there’s a problem lolz)
- Neko’s delayed arrival. It kinda seems like Oda is keeping some sort of hope in reserve for the SHs.
- The schedule for the banquet and it’s important items. Those tings I think will have to be covered and in order for that to happen, the raid I think has to fail.
- Kaidou wanting to ask the scabbards something important. For that to happen, I feel like the scabbards are gonna have to be captured.
- Luffy hasn’t taken a second L to Kaidou yet...lolz

Chances are that we’ll be seeing another execution on Onigashima similar to what happened 20 years ago. Only this time it’d be Luffy, most likely Kidd as well & the scabbards. Zoro could also potentially be captured too.

ace and wb were the exception. Monet and vergo/pedro. Where are the bodies? We thought pound was dead and look at us now.

No reason the believe the trageedy was the oden thing. The tragedy is supposed to befall the heroes. Seing something bad happen in a flashback isnt a tragedy.

The point is, Vergo and Monet are irrelevant now. Once Doflamingo got taken out, there was little reason to ever use the characters again. Plus, we are beyond the point of a cover story. Pedro will be the same if he doesn't show up in Wano or Pounds cover story.
