Before chapter 225, you could (attempt to) argue that Yuta could fight against 15-finger Sukuna and possibly even not get immediately fodderized by Gojo and full-power Sukuna.
Two moments in the chapter contribute to the complete massacre of Yuta's portrayal.
1) First, his main selling point has been deflated, more so than people seem to realize.
To recap, one of the reasons people rated Yuta so highly were vague statements about his crazy CE reserve:
Yuta is stated to have more cursed energy than Gojo at several points in the manga.
He has so much that his cursed energy is called boundless and unlimited.
Now these statements in isolation seem super impressive, however, we were never actually given a concrete measure of his CE reserve.
That was, until Chapter 225.
At first sight, Yuta admits that Sukuna with 19/20 fingers has more than double his CE reserve.
Now this is noteworthy because while Sukuna unlocks new techniques with more fingers, the CE reserve contained by each finger is never implied to vary.
Less than 50% of Sukuna's reserve is around 9-10 fingers of CE, which means that Yuta in raw CE reserve is comparable to Jogo.
So yes, while Yuta's CE reserve is still monstrous for a human and likely the second highest in the story, it's merely relative to that of the disaster curses.
2) The second major reason Yuta's portrayal tanked is his reaction to Sukuna's open domain.
This reaction basically kills any chance of Yuta putting up any fight against 15-finger Sukuna, since Sukuna had the same domain expansion just with 25% less energy.
The reactions give me the same vibe as Kidd's reaction to Luffy using ryou Kaido (another moment where a character's portrayal utterly crashed):
@Seth disingenuously attempted to argue that Yuta's shock is only towards 20-finger Sukuna, but it's clearly towards the domain expansion technique itself, not anything Sukuna currently has that he lacked with 15 fingers.
In conclusion, Yuta has been dramatically overrated and overestimated by the JJK fanbase. Not only is he being portrayed as utter fodder to Gojo and Sukuna, but his status as the third strongest is highly questionable. Claims that he would low diff Kenjaku or even a disaster curse need to be re-examined.
