The actual art and visual storytelling is great, but at the same time, this is talk no jutsu to the max.

I simply can't buy that Toga's years of emotional trauma were rendered inert after a single conversation with Uraraka, someone she barely knows, when she started in such a steadfast position.

If Toga had been wavering throughout the entire arc in a far more clear way, maybe this would have been understandable, but no, she had literally doubled down on going full villain just before the situation in Gunga.

Unless Hori off screens it, we still the the Aoyma and Sero fights.:suresure:

Chapter 394: Ochako Uraraka vs. Himiko Toga

The chapter begins with Ochako realizing that there's something weird with her quirk that even she doesn't understand. Jiro realizes that everyone is floating is and Toga tries to create more clones, but they are "born" with the Zero Gravity bubbles surrounding them

Toga realizes her quirk evolved, just like what happened to her own during the fight with Curious. Kamui holds Tiger with his arms and asks if he's the real one, but a clone wouldn't withstand that much damage. Tiger is impressed with how much Ochako grew in just 1 year

Ochako feels her body getting cold but that doesn't matter. What she wants right now is to be able to touch the sadness inside Toga. The two are connected by the wire and Ochako starts saying that her parents are poor, and she wanted to become a hero to help them

But she realized the world is bigger than that, and more people need her help. In the meantime, she developed a crush on Izuku and is now determined to stop Toga. All of this is what defines Ochako Uraraka, and it's why she's here right now

Ochako shouts, asking Toga to tell her everything she's thinking, everything she's feeling and everything she's ever felt. She remembers Dabi and all the tragic moments from her childhood, which makes her even angrier as she prepares to stab Ochako

But she stops the knife and starts talking. She says she falls in love very easily, be it with animals, villains, heroes, boys or girls. She is attracted to blood and can't help it. But everyone always told her not to smile and she felt envious of other people's happiness

She had a crush on a boy who looked just like Izuku, called Saito. She wanted to ask him to let her drink a little bit of his blood, but she couldn't do it because everyone said she wasn't human being, that she wasn't cute. This led to that incident

The League of Villains are the only ones who accepted her love from the start. Ochako says that Toga was already showing signs of this trauma from the beggining, but that she only realized it now. At this moment, the Twice clones start to turn into dust

Toga realizes that the transformation is coming undone, and that Jin will disappear. Jirou lands on the ground and looks up to see Ochako hugging Toga. Ochako admits that she also admires people who keep doing their best even when they're hurt and bleeding

She knows she'll never be able to take the League's place in her heart, but she felt she needed to say how beautiful Toga's smile is. Toga starts crying even more and asks "am I cute?", to which Ochako smiles and replies "the cutest in the whole world"

Toga then finally smiles. The last double spread shows all the Twice clones that were covering Gunga turning to dust. End of the chapter, no break next week.
Very sweet and wholesome resolution, I like this a lot.
Ochako getting a quirk awakening is great too.

Even though the fight is not my most favorite, surprisingly I don't dislike or even hate it.

This might come off as a unpopular opinion and my opinion on the fights might still change in the future, but I think this fight was at least more better than the second half of the Dabi fight.

Aye I can definitely relate with that, I feel the same way about this fight.

Toga vs Curious was a better fight for me than Toga and Ochako but Toga works well as a direct nemesis/counterpart for Ochako.
Toga using Ochakos face and her powers to brutally kill Curious was a wickedly cunning twist too.

It looks like I am in the minority here. But, I loved the chapter and overall fight. My #1 (Ochaco) and #3 (Himiko) MHA girls duking it out and resolving it via emotion and self-realization/reflection instead of just punching each other out. It was a breath of fresh air. Talk no jutsu served as great character development. This fight gave much more insight into both characters, especially Himiko.

Horikoshi did quite well with the art and imagery.

TF is Uraraka talking about.

โ€œyou are the cutest girl in the worldโ€

Toga is literally some sort of creepypasta monster

God is just me or someone else just want the manga to end, its become soo boring to read is kind sad
Itโ€™s just these side character fights that I feel are boring

im still invested in the main fights

It is common girl-to-girl talk: affirming the feelings and hopes of the other when the other is in despair or feeling hurt. "Truth" is not paramount in those conversations, feelings are the crux of the matter.

It is also a variation of talking someone "off the ledge", if one wants to take a cynical look at the chapter. Naruto used the technique more than a few times.

Talk no jutsu chapters and battles aren't for everyone. I get it. I found the Dabi side arc to be painful.

This series fell off when Mirio was shot with that bullet and deku the worm came in to save him.

Only good part after that was the Hawks and Endeavor vs Nomu.

Series can be salvaged with more scene of big booba creation girl

I cannot pinpoint when exactly it went downhill for me, but compared to the initial arcs, school competitions and lurking danger of OFA, it used to be a fun read, and now I'm still reading it because I want to see the series end (which hopefully is near).

I

Indigo

Deku will save Shiggy, though he'll likely still die.

This last arc (and series really) has been about saving others. Not just beating people up and continuing the cycle.
They are not really being saved though

Those characters only could've been saved when they were kids, which Hero Society made that impossible

the point of the series should be about stopping the curret villains, understanding why they got to where they are now and then changing society so it doesn't happen again

but Toga and Shigaraki are not really being saved, and those rushed Talk no Jutsu making them achieve bliss and solve all their mental problems in a few chapters is pretty stupid

Seriously, what's wrong with these two girls (lollies?) lol.
I am glad I dropped this series after S2 of anime.
I haven't read the chapter yet, waiting for the VIZ.

I kept up with it for some characters and now just wanna see it finish lol. It had potential but fell off quite a lot.

That would've been better lmao
I got one more in me - V.C.
