It was heavily implied that he freed Law. You think Hawkins is stupid and would not notice anything suspicious? Drake betrayed Hawkins and then Law cut him. It wasn't fair at all. Law needed help in order to ''defeat'' Hawkins.

It's you viewing that he learned nothing. Mihawk said in some point of training that Zoro cant drink alcohol until he "masters" (to some extent) CoA so that his sword wont break. After that point, Zoro began to train to use CoA and especially on his sword. The mountain-cutting feat is the result, and that was a big one. It was far from nothing.

Red Hawk was pistol coated with haki, and whatever fictional mechanism used to create heat. Its a superior version of Gomu2 Pistol. Kokujou Tatsumaki is new version of Tatsumaki, the wind blades keep spinning. G4 attacks was the result of Luffy harmonizing his CoA with his rubber. But the basic attacks is the same. Pistol, Bazooka, twin pistol. Zoro's ISDS is the result of Zoro getting physically stronger, use sword technique to make effective cut, coating his sword with CoA, etc, so his SS has stronger and wider effects. Nothing is brand new in Luffy and Zoro's case, but Zoro's ISDS is not the same old move. Luffy use his technique to create new modes and effects like G4. Zoro use his technique to cut more precisely, strongly, deadly, building his basics. Both men had showned their respective powerups.

Hawkins is too great to be just a support. He is already confirmed to be stronger than Zoro and Apoo, because he defeated Law all by himself. Law ~ Hawkins > Zoro > Apoo.

Apoo doesn't have a powerup, Hawkins does, also, his deck of cards can be very hax, he might use it to assist or do damage.

Also, Apoo's ability won't work well on Hawkins who can transfer damage, not to mention Apoo needs to charge attacks.

How many Kizaru lasers did Hawkins tank? He tanked a light kick to the head as well. Not to mention those nails were more problematic for Zoro than Apoo's slash was.
Apoo doesn't look better at all actually.
