bro, wtf did i just read?

:choppawhat:

are we really gonna watch Deku have a therapy session with Shigaraki and then hugging? after this dude killed millions at this point
Its inevitable. Hes already helped reform Gentle and Nagant who have come to his and other's aid now too.

I just read the chapter and wtf was I reading man.

This shit...

I am waiting for it to end now.
We know right?

I mean, this whole last all-in-one battle arc is so horrible, that nothing can salvage it. Makes Naruto and Bleach last wars arcs to seem peak fiction (and I was annoyed a lot at how those wars while reading them on weekly basis).

So yeah, let it just end.

Yeah I understand that. I believe both Naruto and Bleach get too much flack for their final arcs. Yeah Kaguya appearing basically outta nowhere and the extremely short battle with Yhwach aside, both of these had a plethora of very very good moments as well as very very hype ones.

The most you could say about this MHA final arc was that Hawks and Endy vs AFO was good, and that some parts of the Dabi story were fine, but the former amounted to practically nothing and the latter still ended with Shoto just saving everyone.

They both got that much flack for their final arcs because of how popular they were

They were far more popular than MHA

And MHA had been bad for at least 2/3 arcs so it helped decreasing the hype

Yeah, in a retrospect, while there were some issues with those arcs (just like @Sebastian Michaelis mentioned Kaguya and Ynwach), there also were some really cool moments.

And yeah, the bigger the fan base, the bigger the backlash, I honestly dread the final arc in One Piece.

As for MHA.... It is simply painful to watch.

To be fair MHA is absurdly popular too. It's one of the new big 3 for a reason. Even nowadays it continues to score high in sales.

Bleach hits a peak with Soul Society and continues a downward trend since then. There are still arcs and parts I like. But they are for some moments and characters not for story telling.

Naruto on the other hand yeah. Up until the war it's superb. Even in the war it delivers. Yeah there are bad moments here and there for sure and the Otsutsuki stuff brings it down a bit but it's still awesome. No one can tell me that Naruto at the very least to the Pain Arc isn't a top tier Manga.

No matter what happens at the end of OP there will be those who defend it religiously and those who bash it. But imo Oda set the expectations way too high for him to deliver with constantly hyping it and creating all the mysteries that need to be resolved. The ending legit has to be 10/10 just to meet the expectations. We saw he doesn't handle multiple plot points and such in Wano just recently so take it as you will lol.

abso agree! I picked up MHA because of its popularity. Bleach kinda died to me in FKT arc, I kinda enjoyed the arrancar stuff and the afterword of Aizenโ€™s betrayal that is still one of the greatest betrayals in anime imo. Naruto was really good till Pain arc, and even afterwards it was more or less fine, I was somewhat annoyed with Uchihas wank and Naruto obsession with Sasuke, but then again, I cannot relate that well to their relationship, Iโ€™m not a ninja or a member of an elite troop)))

after Wano, I lost hope that the last arc will be good tbh. overall OP is a hit-and-miss manga for me, there arcs I love, there are arcs I dislike, because they feel unnecessarily long to me, Wano being the prime example of that. So while haters gonna hate and worshipers gonna worship, I just want to enjoy my story and not suffer from another Wano fiasco ;โ€™(

Same here lol. Heard about it almost everywhere and decided to give it a shot.

Yeah like I said, SS arc was peak tier and slowly thereafter it goes down and down lol. The Aizen moment was different, even though I knew he was gonna do it, been spoiled cuz I read Bleach not too long ago, used to watch it as a kid here and there but not too much or paying too much attention to it, it still hit hard.

Naruto was really good till Pain arc, and even afterwards it was more or less fine
My thoughts too. Up until the end of the Pain arc it's deffo top tier. And again even after that it has some great moments, but also some bad ones.

Seeing as I have 3 Uchiha in my top like 7 favourite characters, and I got Kakashi there too, so like 3.5, I was absolutely fine with it. :myman:

Naruto obsession with Sasuke, but then again, I cannot relate that well to their relationship, Iโ€™m not a ninja or a member of an elite troop)))
Feels like I could rationalize it because they are the reincarnations of brothers afterall. And Sasuke was the first one to sorta acknowledge Naruto all the way back in Land of the Waves when he sacrificed himself for Naruto.

Tbh I stopped reading One Piece in Wano lol. Around chapter 1014 or 1015 or smth. I don't recall the exact number. After that I read only like 3 more chapters. Zoro vs King and the CG chapter. Heard some spoilers here and there and yeah just gave up on it lol.

did you enjoy it at least in the beginning? I did, and then it went downhillโ€ฆ.. MHA Vigilantes was a cool story though.

sad you got spoiled on Aizen, it was actually quite a cool moment. I managed to read it unspoiled and it was such an iconic reveal.

My thoughts too. Up until the end of the Pain arc it's deffo top tier. And again even after that it has some great moments, but also some bad ones.

glad you enjoyed it! who are your fav characters btw? I will need some time to list more, but off the top of my head my fav leaf shinobi is Shikamaru, and actually Kakashi was cool! my fav Akatsuki members are Deidara, Sasori, Itachi and Kisame. Not the biggest Gaara fan, but his story was really good.

Well yeah, but at the same time at certain point it was such a toxic relationship with kind of a wrong message to me. On the one hand, every relationship needs work and contribution from all parties, on another hand irl people sometimes change so much that it is unhealthy to keep them in your life. My mom had a friend for 40 years and then they stopped talking to each after one big argument which bas building up for years, and it was noticeable to me, my brother, my uncle, and others, but my mom always used to forgive a lot of toxicity because โ€œshe is my friend from childhoodโ€, โ€œweโ€™ve been together the whole lifeโ€, โ€œI feel sorry for her because she lost her mom as a child, thatโ€™s why she is the way she isโ€, which are not really the good reasons for keeping someone who constantly tries to hurt you psychologically and make you feel like shit, then disappears for 1-2 weeks, and reappears without apologising and acts as if nothing bad ever happened. Iโ€™m glad that at certain point my mom finally saw the toxicity and stopped justifying it.

oh yeah, Wano is one of the worst arcs, with so many bad things about it, that Iโ€™m just happy itโ€™s over. The next arc, Egghead, is like a balm to a wound, it feels a lot better, and we get finally some focus on BBP in parallel, so I actually get excited for upcoming chapters.

MHA Vigilantes was a cool story though.
Koichi >>>> Deku

For me MHA started to go downhill at the end of the My villain academia arc. The way Hori introduced quirk awakening was bad news for the following of the show and I didnโ€™t like the way Destro lost. It was a bit bullshit.

After that there were still cool moments (the lab fight) but the first war was a red flag and Deku multiples quirks a problem.

And then everything went to shit. And fast. You can feel Hori didnโ€™t want to continue his manga and wanted to finish it the quickest way.

yes!!! Character-wise he is more believable than Deku to me tbh.
I also loved how his seemingly lame quirk had so many interesting ways to use in the end!

and I liked the concept of vigilante heroes in the world where hero is actually a legit profession.

and letโ€™s not forget โ€tough old bastardโ€, who is not really the greatest mentor, but at the same time who did so much better than All Mightโ€ฆ.

Koichi quirk is fucking awesome
One of the best of the whole show

And yeah Koichi personality and way of behaving is way more touching than Dekus one. It connects more to the reader.

Skycrawler best name

A shame (and a bless) that Koichi wasnโ€™t introduced in the main show and didnโ€™t make a come back in MHA.

So glad Iโ€™m not the only one who thinks Vigilantes are a better story with better characters

overall this format suits a lot better to MHA-verse, I am somewhat tired of those โ€œgotta save the worldโ€œ cliche stories.

I would agree itโ€™s a blessing that Koichi has not appeared in the main story, although given his character, I am surprised he didnโ€™t do the same thing that Stripes did, it feels like a plot hole. But better leave him out of this mess, I donโ€™t want Koichi to end up being useless since Deku is the one destined to defeat AFO
