You are reading the manga backwards then.

This is the time for that to happen, for SHP to be recognized as a Yonko crew who cannot be fucked with.
Their real rivals in Yonko all were hyped and took wins.
Their fake rivals aka Pretenders like Kidd/Law were destroyed.

Greenbull, Lucci, Bonney, Lillith all underestimate SHP now.
Why? They're legitimately a Yonko tier crew, this is going to be proven now this arc.
Morj did a good video on this recently :myman:

1. King is weaker than Marco. He is not even relevant anymore, as the Seraphim got his spot in the lore.
2. Marines being that strong can be very easily argumented:
- Chosen by World Draft
- Protecting the G-Bases during the Marineford War
- Being there but barely acting, like with every Top Tier besides Akainu/Whitebeard

What I see is people in disbelief that the Straw Hats could get pushed by the Marine here. This Arc could go many ways, perhaps it is a hype tool, perhaps it is a serious Arc.

This is the first time since Sabaody that the Straw Hats get serious attention from the Navy. So let's see how it goes.

We both know it's not that simple. Zoro rarely ever gets put into fights where it's strength vs strength. It's usually about overcoming a gimmick when it comes to Zoros fights. Take another High Tier, and give them a crazy gimmick, and they will push Zoro all the same.
Nah, this isn't really true.

Most of what you're calling gimmicks were legitimately part of their strength and didn't have some trick that could be easily beaten once figured out:

  • Daz Bones (hardness of steel) => breath of all things, ability to cut steel
  • Braham (ranged weapons) => flying slashes
  • Kaku (just generally stronger) => Asura
  • King (Lunarian durability and generally stronger) => Haoshoku coating

The fighters that pushed Zoro forced him to grow/develop new abilities in order to best their gimmicks.

And besides, haki triumphs all gimmicks.

A gimmick that troubles Zoro isn't going to happen, and a VA is too weak to force Zoro to grow.

Maybe 1 or 2 are at 2nd Commander level. They will likely fight Zoro/Sanj/Jimbei until Saturn make his move.

If they are defeated should be around mid diff, any less than that means Oda needs to stop wasting time showing these irrelevant trash and pushing fake hype.

We've already seen Vice Admirals getting low diff'd, all this hype for them to get low diff'd again? Sickening I'd prefer seeing the strawhats struggle with sepharim for 10 chapters instead of that crap.
But there's zero hype though? These VAs have never been hyped in this arc. All the hype has been focused on the Seraphim.

A restricted King (no magma, no hybrid, none of his more destructive attacks like Tempura Udon or the massive explosion) offscreened Marco.

King only started fighting seriously once Zoro cut part of his mask.

Marienfeld was full of characters stronger than King.
It wasn’t highlighted because it’s not impressive to be stronger than him. Oda showed multiple times that Commander lvl characters are not worth much. I don’t know where the hype for them comes from.

it was never stated that the seraphim’s are weaker than King. Where does such a baseless statement come from ??

Where were they at Marineford?

If Zoro is going to be pushed to a solid medium difficulty (or even higher), by his Egghead opponent, then his opponent should be stronger than King (who was himself a level above Marco).

If such strong VAs existed (excluding the anomalous Garp who turned down an Admiral promotion), where were they at Marineford?

Why didn't these > King VAs take on the likes of Marco, Jozu, Crocodile, Ivankov and Jimbe? Why was this task mostly left to the Admirals?

Also, why introduce the seraphim? These kids are (currently) weaker than King, but hyped to be the ultimate weapons. Why introduce them and make such a big deal about them (even going as far as to abolish the Shichibukai), if such strong Vice Admirals existed?
you know the marines watch over the whole earth right. why would they need extra manpower when the manpower they had in marineford was tooooo much

A tired Marco because he held back King + Queen.

Stop pretending this wasn't pointed out.
Marco fought King + Queen and got exhausted as pointed out by Perospero before King + some fodders that could fly finished Marco
