I feel like the “honorary white” thing only applies to East Asians: Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans.

As a South Asian, I don’t think we are anywhere close to attaining “whiteness”. Like I’m pretty sure in post 9/11 America, it was revealed that the NYPD explicitly targeted South Asian muslims, along with other Muslim groups, by putting them under surveillance.

I fortunately didn’t go through it as I was born in America, but my parents did. It was really hard on them.

My mom developed a severe mental illness and tbh she’ll probably never recover from it.

These shills really just don’t care about how history will remember them as villains, they just wanna fuck over as many of the people who got them where they are as possible. It’s not just that they have no moral compass, it’s that they act in overtly evil ways all to steal a few more dollars out of the proletariat’s pockets, I wish any of them had the self-awareness to off themselves and save nature/us the trouble :luuh:

we south asian are almost treated the same way as black people

not sure why but things are slightly changing these days

In the USA at least, I think the way we’re treated is more similar to that of Latinos.

A significant amount of South Asians in the USA, if not the majority, are visa holders.

This means they are dependent on their employer for legal status in the country. This makes them more exploitable and allows employers to undercut wages by taking advantage of the cheap Indian labor that will work for extremely low salaries(compared to citizens). They’re not going to fight for better pay because they’ll literally get deported if they lose their jobs.

One time I did a job interview. The guy thought I was on a visa because I have an Indian name. Offered to pay me about $20,000 less than the industry average for someone of my skill set.
