Look, I don't want to sound repetitive, but HxH is also published in Shonen Jump. There are a shitton of very dark scenes and cruel murders depicted in it. The last two arcs of it are basically seinen.

If Oda wanted to, he could go a more mature/darker road. Jump would allow it. He simply doesn't want to and we have to accept that.

Isnt Black Butler and Akame Ga Kill also a shounen? And those series gets really dark

I'm pretty sure she's wearing a kimono. If you look at a high quality scan like Viz, in the panel where she peers out of the door you can see the outline of shirt collar under her chins.

Simply put, the magazine a series is published in is a much more reliable marker of what you can get away with than a very broad marketing label like Shonen. One Piece should be looking at other Shonen Jump titles, maybe some Jump+ titles (though I believe they allow more nudity there) to see how close to the edge it can go.

It doesn't really surprise me those two series you mentioned fall under the Gangan comics name. They are a smaller magazine that aim for a niche audience and will tolerate much darker themes Jump may flat out reject.

She is still a very relevant villain and will be Luffy's 1v1 fight in the non too distant future.

Denjiro completely changed his appearance because of suggested "pure rage".
They wait fucking 20 years to finally get their revenge.

Now the moment is here and Denjiro has the golden opportunity to end one of those hated Beast Pirates.
In literally every other manga this is a kill-scenario.

But what do we get? Denjiro chains Sasaki up (Sasaki is still totally fine by the looks of it) and walks away with a smile on his face.

Sorry, but I call massive bullshit once again. I don't know what's the matter with Oda, but he's gotten even more soft than pre-skip recently.

There is no way a protagonist is gonna kill an antagonist unless he has no choice on panel. Any expectation of a protagonist killing an antagonist because it is convenient is too much for a Shonen manga.

Read Kingdom manga. Manga which takes place in China before 200 AD (I forget which year)which tells wars between 7 kingdoms (Qin, Chu, Zhao, Wei, Han, Yan and Qi) Every war there are major deaths. The protagonist Shin has no problem killing enemy generals left and right like a savage.
