Why does Fuji stand out?

Probably because Oda doesn't like the idea of 3 Admirals having 3 DF types so Oda decided to give GB a Logia.

As for Fuji, Oda wants to introduce a gravity power eventually.

Logia's are similar to Zoans where they give your body a massive advantage in combat. Zoans have strong wills and the fruits influence probably moves them away from the marines. Naturally logias would be the preferred fruit of Admirals, as paramecias would seem weak in comparison.

Fujitora's swordsmanship combines greatly with his fruit, so that's his replacement for intangibility. The real reason is prolly because Oda thought a swordsman admiral with gravity powers sounded cool.

If my theory on Logia-Paramecia are being closer to each other then he doesn't stand out. He would be stand out if he was a Zoan like Sengoku.

Maybe he wanted new admirals to be paramecia types but changed his mind later with GB.

The characterization of devil fruits users usually follows their devil fruit itself, and that goes double for the Admirals
Akainu being a raging volcano
Ryokugyu being nature incarnate with a presence larger than life
Kizaru being acting slow because he’s too damn fast
Aokiji being the chill guy

Fujitora isn’t a killing machine like the other guys, he represents the humane justice so its necessary for him to be a normal human. His devil fruit can be extremely destructive but he can also use it to protect civilians which is necessary to his theme. The logias are just merciless fruits.

I think the same. There are some theories that say that Fujitora will eventually turn against the marines and so far he seems to be the less aligned admiral, having a very particular sense of justice.

Actually, I think Fujitora isnt the odd one.
It is Kizaru. He will be replaced by a Zoan Admiral.
And then all 3 types will be present.
