I don't know who to believe, but there are so many agendas from both sides, and their supporters, that it's almost impossible to determine the best course of action. I also think any arguments about the past, and what happened before, should not really dictate how Israel responds now.
Ultimately, if you commit slaughter, you are likely to be attacked back, is that not clear? Perhaps even brutally. I am not happy for innocent deaths, but war has always existed, and quite frankly, I can imagine if it was my family that had been slaughtered... I'd cross the border myself to enact my own savagery.
Furthermore, damn the 'collective punishment' narrative when the person who started the assault did the exact same thing. I feel the Western world and it's activists are so accustomed to peace that they forget that enemies that would slaughter us at the first opportunity exist. We're like the Dodo with no predators that didn't even consider outsiders as a remote threat, having never seen one. We know how that turned out when one finally arrived.
I've seen stuff this week that has made me feel sick. But nothing more so than pro-Palestine activists cheering the acts of Hamas, with protestors chanting "gas the Jews" in Sydney, all the while the world ignores it.
