Just add it to the list of plot holes in the series. You can fill out a book on postskip alone lol

To fight with whom? Lenjiro?Lashura Doji? Lawamatsu?

In universe, Mihawk has no idea how strong Wano samurai are, and they had a rep of being fearsome swordsmen. Mihawk had absolutely no presence in Wano, implying he never been there.

Mihawk is looking for worthy swordsmen to fight. Why did he never try to go to the land known for producing powerful samurai?
That's a good question. He probably thought that the WSS was someone not from Wano. Rayleigh maybe?

Oden was still alive 20 years ago and Mihawk already had a name 24+ years ago (18~19 years old), before Roger's execution. He could've faced Oden a little bit older than Zoro is currently.

Oden was probably fairly well known at Mihawk's youth. He was a former Whitebeard pirate and a Roger pirate when they reached Laugh Tale.

Mihawk would have no idea about who any of the samurai in Wano are. All he knows is that Wano is known for having strong swordsman.

Firstly, Do we know if Mihawk doesn't know? It's strange to say the least that the WSS doesn't know anything about the country of swordsmen at all.

Secondly, the only truly strong swordsmen in Wano were Ryuma, Oden and perhaps Ushimaru, that is, even if Mihawk went to Wano, none of the swordsmen there would be very different from PRÉ-TS Zoro.

I guess the point here is whether Mihawk wanted a worthy opponent after he won the WSS title and not before. During his 20s he still dueled Shanks and was the Marine Hunter.

Yeah but Mihawk isn’t reading the One Piece manga. He has no way of knowing how strong the strongest swordsman in Wano is since the nation is cut off from the world
He found his rival in Shanks, a swordsman who is superior to anyone who ever came from Wano and Mihawk duelled him.

Ofc im not saying that Mihawk knows that Wano is full of losers, I'm saying that Oda didnt care to introduce Mihawk into Wano because the country was already in ruins & under Kaidou's rule when Mihawk reached his prime. And he achieved what the best ever swordsman from Wano did.

What if he did and didn't found anybody.

Shanks knows about Wano.
No way these two drunkards never talked about wano.
Also no way shanks never told him about Oden.

Also wano was Under Kaido , Mihawk is Affiliated to WG.
Taking action on Yonkou crew is not the genius idea clowns.
