Oda hinted at zoro having coc since pre-ts so it had plenty of setup
CoC =/ ACoC :goyea:

That old guy had set up! Oden's dad told Zoro that a few Shimotsukis left the country and one geezer among that made Wado & Enma, around 80 chapters before he showed up.
It took Zoro a fortnight to connect the dots in the middle of a fight. And it wasn't even that big of a revelation. CL⁶oda just wanted to give Zoro ACoC and didn't know how to do it. So he gave us a (unrelated) flashback. Apparently this is what he does when no ideas are left on the table. The same is happening with Kuma:josad:

I swear, people legit cannot decide.
If Oda puts some backstory in a SBS, fans cry: "How could Loda do that?! It's shit"
Oda shows detailled backstory in the manga: "He's dragging the story with boring content! More action please!"
...
There is only a certain amount of slice of life backstory I can take before I grow bored of it. It is incredibly small for characters that are not that important in the grand scheme of things if we don't see through their eyes big historical events.
I'm kind of ok with exploring what happened in the Sorbet Kingdom but it can't last for 5 chapters. The most important characters involved in that kingdom history have been Kuma and Ginny :whitepress:

I understand people want to know things like why he is referred to as tyrant or when did he become a pirate but those are minor details. We already knew the former king of the Sorbet Kingdom and his attitude towards his people, a two-line SBS answer would have been enough to explain what happened there :kayneshrug:

One thing is clear Saturn imo is going down this arc .

It can be three people who can do it :

Kuma
Dragon
Luffy

There is still Ancient robot plot that needs to wrap this up . I feel Dragon should arrive in this plot it will tie up with his promise to Kuma.

Wild people are complaining about this. It’s millions times better than the Oden flashback cause this one seems like it’ll actually have a big pay off
I do find this better than the Oden flashback as well. For the simple fact that Oden has been dead for 20 years, whereas with Kuma, it will and can lead to him doing something against the people that did him dirty his whole life.

OP fans will complain about literally anything. It shouldn't be surprising

Kuma's flashback is double layered.

He had a lot of panel time since Thriller Bark to Sabaody, but we didnt understand the motivations of Kuma and why he did what he did. He was always one of the most mysterious characters... a Tyrant, a Revolutionary, a Warlord & a Cyborg.

With his flashback, we now get to know about Bartholomew Kuma as a character, after which his actions in Pre Skip also makes sense.
