Kuma's flashback is double layered.

He had a lot of panel time since Thriller Bark to Sabaody, but we didnt understand the motivations of Kuma and why he did what he did. He was always one of the most mysterious characters... a Tyrant, a Revolutionary, a Warlord & a Cyborg.

With his flashback, we now get to know about Bartholomew Kuma as a character, after which his actions in Pre Skip also makes sense.

All this and still some people find it boring. Guess we know now who never read books (without pictures) as children

Kumas definitely up there. Both lore wise and straw hats narrative wise kumas influence is one of the biggest for side characters.

I realized that Kuma's tyranny doesn't even compare to that of Kaido and Orochi. I mean, it's obvious that enslaving the country with a military power feared by the world government and the navy is on a unique level, only the strongest living creature is capable of that.

Yeah, he won't be in battlefield, but at least closeby? I mean, he became King again even, he's in the kingdom and can't run away fast. Not hard to track him down and throw him into a prison

True man seems like they forgot about Kuma and prolly wanted to know it way back but they're getting it now because it involves a gorosei member but they want action only. Go watch WWE if you want to see fights. Even they use several story telling elements including fights.

Well is it worth it? And if it happened will there be story? Saturn is a gorosei and they surely could find Kuma anyhow and kill him way before if we think about it realistically and as it happens in the real life but would this story exist if there was realism? No, they couldn't find a fruit is a silly thing too but story wise it isn't. This isn't science fiction so its fine.

If Oda does somehow drag this flashback even longer then no I will not be defending him.

I don't always defend Oda, I had lots of complaints back during the Wano arc.

Heck during this arc, I wasn't a huge fan of the whole York traitor subplot.
