I mean I can understand why some want to see him in action, but at the end of the day this is a Kuma flashback not a Dragon flashback.

The hype for Dragon has nothing to do with Kuma's flashback, it's just a milestone of 1000 chapters since Dragon's first appearance in the series (chapter 100) and a hope for Oda to create a hype moment for the character.

Not just in terms of backstory but his overall character is just really interesting.

Kuma is a former King, a Rev, a Pirate, a former Warlord, a Cyborg, Step father of Bonney, and a Buccaneer.

On top of all that, he was a antagonist during Thriller Bark who gave Zoro that nothing happened moment.

And finally he was the one that defeated/separated the Straw Hats.

That's why I'm saying the backstory is awesome, it fleshes out Kuma as a character, he's very unique.

at 4.5 chapters we're just below chopper' flashback in length. So we're actually still in short flashback territory

Kuma's flashback probably ends next chapter, we'll find out how he became a Warlord and Saturn will do something in the flashback that will serve as a transition to the present

He doesn't really have anything to do with Egghead, and he's the worst Monkey D anyway

1100 Dragon prediction was an insane prediction that kinda relied on you just not reading the story at all to come to the conclusion he was going to matter because... numbering I guess
