Well that also doesn’t matter because obviously he’s too weak to beat Saturn so he’ll probably get killed by Saturn or just be there to stall until Luffy actually saves everyone

I'd have a bigger problem with Kuma's death explosion defeating Saturn than with Kuma dying.

He deserves to rest, and he was already half dead when he got rescued by Sabo, and he should be dead after his encounter with Akainu. How'd they plan to save him now? They're about to abandon Egghead, they don't have resources for this on the Sunny, and Kuma will likely get more messed up on Egghead whether he explodes or not.

I remember theories about giving his memories to S-Bear but that'd also imply "killing" S-Bear.

Oda is showing Kuma’s pov and thoughts regarding Luffy throughout this chapter and yet he conspicuously SKIPS giving us what Kuma’s thought were during this nothing happened thriller bark situation

Like technically Luffy was not in any danger really. Kuma was fucking with Zoro the entire time and almost killed him just for the sake of it

Kuma was not fucking with Zoro he was testing the crew and people there.
The only reason it end up being Zoro was because Zoro KO sanji .
It not like Zoro was kuma target he just end up being the last on standing .

When kumas dad told him that I don't think he knew kuma would be blackmailed to become a living cyborg with a bomb in him

either way kuma shown enduring because of his father words

nika come to save him, foreshadowing luffy will save kuma later. so kuma holding out this long/yet not getting saved yet shows he waited long time... and now luffy/nika learning about kuma this arc

will make luffy more sure to save kuma from his fate, saturn i see brag this to luffy you don't win, and luffy overcome this with bonney!
