If true, maybe the Lunarian genes came from Judge's experiments while Sora's alteration was the Buccaneer gene?
That's what I genuinely don't understand about half of the Zorofandom these days, especially on this forum.
I used to think the whole Zoro fans vs Sanji fans feud was just a funny way to emulate the actual relationship between Zoro and Sanji and their own silly feud in the story, like how they will fight about any little thing, but its just become clear that some in the Zoro community takes this feud and the powerscaling stuff way too seriously to the point of having an actual cult mentality which became even more apparent to me after they started claiming that Zoro is actually the real main character above Luffy or calling Luffy "Fraud Goofy" unironically.
I like both Sanji and Zoro a lot like all of the Straw Hats but trying to treat either of them or any member of the crew as more important than Luffy or actually rooting against any of the Straw Hats or their allies instead of supporting them all equally just feels like it goes against the very essence of the series. I can understand criticizing how LOda writes them or how he has put some of the SH in the backseat too often while retconning a lot of things, but wanting to see the rest fail just to prop up your favorite seems weird. Even my own mockery of Kidd is mostly done as a joke rather than any actual dislike towards the character (only thing I genuinely don't like about Kidd is what LOda ended up doing with his bro Killer along with Wano as an arc).
Its gotten almost as bad as the weird powescaling infighting in the Dragon Ball and Naruto communities.

I guess, but why would Sora want to give Sanji Lunarian genes? I can understand Buccaneer as a way of preserving his emotions no matter what, but Lunarian feels more like something that would weaponize him... Unless the real intent was so that he could survive the abuse he would endure in the kingdom thanks to the Lunarian's powers?
True. If Sora's drug had nothing to do with it, I'm more inclined to believe that maybe Sora or Judge had some distant Lunarian ancestry already that finally resurfaced in Sanji or that as you said it was just part of Judge's experiments but Sanji was the just the only one to really unlock the Lunarian potential, probably thanks to Sora's alteration which was probably an unintended consequence of her own treatment or maybe Sanji's training with Zeff unlocked that potential?

Judge purposefully chose her as his wife because he wanted to see if he could create children with that power.
The exoskeletons are an attempt to awaken the dormant lunarian abilities which is why only the vinsmokes have the exoskeleton and not any of the clones judge makes.
Because of the medicine, sanjis latent lunarian ability was never activated until sanjis emotions triggered that ancestral power in the form of DJ.

It's still early to assume that Sora developed the drug herself and it's possible the drug was originally manufactured for another purpose like for creating a Lunarina/Buccaneer hybrid of some sort, but Sora having no other choice used it to counteract Judge's mental programming on her children with Sanji ending up as the lucky one.
