If Oda actually shows Kid’s death via something like that I’d be okay with it tbh. That would actually be quite badass.

But I still feel like Redon is just capping. Like how brutal can you seriously expect Oda to be? Dude hardcore censors his own manga. Even comparable shonen tend to have more gore in them.

Zoro will get to say one of his signature one-liners after repeating the same finishing move for the 50th time (because Oda is either not creative enough to give him new attacks or too lazy/senile to remember all of the other ones), and then he will probably do nothing for another X amount of chapters

Wasting greatness. I just don’t get why he created a character like Zoro, whose purpose is to fight, but barely show the thing he meant to do.

Nobody views Shanks as no 1 of all time. Most readers will tell you Garp, Roger and WB in their primes were stronger.

But when it comes to portrayal, feats etc there isn't one character on par with Shanks right now.

Wifi diff. 1 shot 3 billion berry Kid. Making marineford back down. Kaido's top 5.

And the narrative. Luffy still isn't strong enough to meet Shanks yet.

Oda couldn't have made it blatantly obvious Shanks is stronger than Akainu and most other yonko

Shanks won't meet Luffy or else he has to give away the strawhat which won't happen!

In wano luffy vs kaido happened on the rooftop while zoro vs king happened on mainland, and egghead is the reverse of that with zoro vs lucci in the labophase (egghead rooftop) and kizaru vs luffy in the phabriophase (egghead mainland).

If not for zoro , mihawk , shanks early introduction series wouldn't have taken off.
Oda plan of completing it in 5 years would have been accomplished.
