It'd be worse writing if that never pops up again IMO. He's fine remaining a villain but Oda needs to have a big internal moment for Kizaru where Oda ends that subplot, otherwise it's kinda weirdly dropped.

What’s the issue here?
The situation got very serious after Kuma punched Saturn. He feels bad for his friends but this situation is so messy that it can shake the entire world, and now that the buster call has been issued there’s no turning back. Kizaru is dead serious and ready to kill his own blood even lol

I agree and I feel like we will get proper closure with that plot thread or atleast I hope so. I mean we didnt get it with Aokiji, nor the many plot threads that Oda just abandonned in Wano.
