It's a repeatedly hammered in aspect of Kizaru's character from when he arrived at Egghead, present in Kuma's flashback and the first thing he says after it.

So it is kind of weird that it patters out instead of getting any significant moment. I guess it doesn't need one, but with how Oda was delaying it, it felt like we were building towards one.

Akainu ultimately will depend on his AP/reactivity compared to Kizaru on how he can fight him. I dont see Oda ruining Akainu personally.

Oda ruined the Kizaru sending crew away thing with Luffy in 1 chapter for their fight ffs
