You heard me, "escape arc" is a madeup term to define something that does not exist in this series. Arcs are arcs, and Luffy defeats villains. To use examples like Impel Down or Sabaody to support this makes zero sense, you might as well call them "luffy weak as shit" arcs because thats what you can clearly define them as to the reason why he never defeated Kizaru or Kuma or Magellan at that time.
