Oda has slowly been building up the Blackbeard Pirates as the second coming of the Rocks Pirates but unlike Xebec, Teach will surpass him just like how Luffy will surpass Roger. Otherwise, what would be the point of alluding to the growing parallels between Teach and Rocks if it doesn't go anywhere. Oda could have just settled with Buggy then and stop wasting everyone's time. Teach told Ace, many years ago that he had a plan to take over the world, we know Teach is a reckless man, but we also know he does not make such bets unless he knows he is going to win. Plus, what would about Oda's avatar Shanks obsessing over Teach if he knew what dangers, that the World Government is capable of?
In addition, the Yami Yami No Mi. Oda has been blue balling us for decades about what this damn fruit is capable of, but one thing is for sure Teach bet his entire dream on finding this fruit because as he told Ace, if he didn't find it, he would have just given up. Knowing what we know now, are you telling me that Oda had Teach nearly waste his entire life just because he didn't know about the Gorosei, when everything indicates that Teach has insider knowledge that he should have no business knowing about? Its super obvious that whatever the Yami Yami is capable of, should be enough to defeat the Gorosei but more importantly Imu.

All those excuses are terrible.
1. The Strawhats aren’t going to turn around and go back to Mariejois to defeat Imu before getting to Raftel.
BB & the Strawhats on the other hand are heading the same way with the poneglyphs.
2. Blackbeard was revealed long before Imu, so that’s just self-refuting.
3. Everyone & everything hyped Imu even more. Imu has potentially 5 Conqueror Haki users that kneel to him. BB has 0.
Luffy would crush Shiryu in a heartbeat. He’s currently running from Warcury.
4. The full history isn’t being revealed before Raftel. Anyone with a brain knows that. Even now Oda is giving the absolute bare minimum (basically nothing) from Vegapunk. That’s just common sense. There’s no point in reading Joyboy’s story after his enemies have already been defeated.
5. It’s the opposite. Most pirates will flock to Luffy’s banner. He already has the Big Mom pirate remnants through Katakuri, several Warlords, several nations including Wano, and the Revolutionary Army will obviously support him.
It’s the sheer size of the alliance that makes the prospect of just 1 Yonko crew like the BBP being the ultimate enemy plain laughable.
6. Oda said the most exciting part of Luffy’s journey will end when the treasure is found…but that inherently implies that there is more to be done afterwards.
The Celestial Dragons cannot be torn down from Mariejois when the Strawhats are on the other side of the planet.

Give up, besides the fact that the fat hippo is a massive loser, his crew is somehow even worse, most SH's go into these fights as clear favorites and that simply won't do.
