Alicent never murdered anybody, shes the more likable of the two for me. I did sympathize with Rhaenyra dont get me wrong but atleast Alicent isnt a murderer.

And Daemon isnt dumb lol, there are 3 sons in Team Green. Aemond, Aegon and Jahaerys. He knew they would go for the easiest target, The King is constantly surrounded by Kingsguards, Aemond he just told them hes quite the capable fighter and Jaherys is a kid lol.
So yeah he probably knew there was a high likelyhood they would kill the kid. And he was fine in it, because Daemon wants war.

She rode with Balerion the black dread , and helped in Westoros Conquest.
Taking her to play with a small dragon. , what did aemond expected? A dragon lullaby for a small dragon?.
And come on let's be honest , daemon target was Those kids from the beginning, aemond can't be assassinated by clowns like blood and cheese. He is one of the strongest and skilled warrior of westoreos currently.
