Current Events Are Gorosei more embarrassing than second half of WCI's Big Meme?

Which is worse?

Even Meme had the hunger thing excuse in WCI
Elders came in urgency to stop VP's message, we're not given any reason for them to be holding back or playing around, if any they should be trying seriously to get rid of the hindrances.
That's a direct consequence of bringing the 5 of them as SHs aren't allowed to lose nor the VP broadcast to be interrupted after all this teasing , they looked alright when it was Saturn alone.

I think it's pretty simple - Gorosei are not top tier, at least offensively.

Anybody can explain how Atlas' sacrifice believeable?
Nusjuro can literally run across the island in minutes, how can Sunny doing Coup de burst that can fly just 1 km, and stalling Nusjuro only for that moment, can actually work?
Or is Atlas just as retarded as the original Vegapunk?
The point was to push Nusjuro out of the way so Sunny can land on water, not to stall him.

It's Oda's writing.

It gets more and more bullshit the longer an arc goes on.

They saw Nusjuro immediately recovering after every attack (which he did again here btw) and him closing in on things in a lightning fast speed (marines couldn't even see what was happening when he destroyed all those Pacifista).

Yet somehow Oda wants to sell us that Atlas - one of the smartest minds in the OP universe - comes to the conclusion that blowing herself up next to this dude would be a good idea. Even worse, he even wants the reader to buy that it actually worked, when in fact it's against everything he has shown earlier.

Just complete bullshit writing.

1) The thing is that Oda pretty clearly WANTS them to be top-tiers, just once again fails to show it on paper (same thing with BM etc.). Just look what he did to Kizaru, a known top-tier - he was depicted even worse.

2) Just "pushing him out of the way" makes zero sense though. She only pushed him away a couple of yards and he has been shown to be almost lightning quick. It shouldn't matter one bit.

Kizaru depicted even worse? I know some Admiral fans won't like the sound of that lol.

Yeah that makes sense :gokulaugh:
Wondering, why do you pick Big Meme in the vote? I think the fact there are 5 Gorosei in Egghead but basically did nothing, confirms that the Gorosei are more embarassing than Big Meme in WCI.

Team Rocket may as well be the villains of this arc at this point. But they were actually funny, memorable, charming though at least.
Well we get discounted flying Team Rocket in this arc

Except unlike the discounted version, the OG Team Rocket was much more likeable.

@Topi Jerami

Tbh, I kinda understand why you joined the swordbois agenda so much because when it comes to Zoro and his opponents, at least Zoro doesn't disappoint that much. So it isn't farfetched how so many people are rooting for Zoro.

But now with the current chapter, even Zoro's opponents aren't save from Oda's clowning.
They are not EoS opponent.
Already pretty clear Oda respects Blackbeard Pirates more than Gorosei jobbers, when he had Augur and Devon (which are not even the top member of the crew) casually outsmarted Saturn.

It never was stated, and "top tier" isnt really a thing in the verse. Its simple, Kizaru was never meant to be on that level.

How long do you think Sunny needs to fall into water? Decade? Atlas pushed him away so he won't disrupt the trajectory, and blow herself to buy a few seconds for to Sunny land. It makes perfect sense, the only question is why Nusjuro can't react to fodder.

I just rewatched one of my favorite scenes with them, also including Cassidy and Biff
Lmaooo the rivalry/interactions with Butch and Cassidy with Jessie and James was too good! Love the choice of names for them too! Their VAs delivered so well too! Such a great era. Biff haha, I forgot about the running gag with his name too!

Butch's partner is Cassidy, and she is one of the few that usually manages to get his name right, much to his frustration. In one of the most famous running gags in the anime series, everyone else calls him "Biff", "Bilge", "Buzz", "Bill", "Bob", "Botch", "Buffy", "Butcher", "Chuck", "Clutch", "Footch", "Hooch", "Hutch", "Mitch", or "Patch" (コサンジ Kosanji in Japanese). Sometimes when Cassidy gets it right, he, out of habit, tries to correct her and ends up calling himself the incorrect name. This, of course, annoys him to no end, so much so in the Pokémon Chronicles episode Training Daze that he said in frustration, "That does it, I am changing my name." In A Promise is a Promise, to annoy James, he calls him "John".

I honestly doubt we're gonna have such an impactful finale to this arc like WCI did.

Big Mom was absolutely nuts and terrifying when she was getting skinny and actually on the Sunny too.

Seeing the Sunny get blown up was horrifying too.

Oven really fucked up the fishmen too.

Bad End Musical or w/e was absolutely iconic as well.

Gorosei are worse without a question because there are 5 of them.

Long story short: Lolda needs to treat antagonists with more respect. Make them competent, make them menacing. Stop caring about every side characters and feed them to the antagonists. Unfortunately, you cant teach an old dog new tricks. The solution is Oda needs to end this story soon - while he can without turning it into a fairy tail - and enjoy his well earned retirement.

The problem isn't even the Gorosei, it's Oda. If he actually wanted tension. He should've brought only 1 Gorosei [not including Saturn]. 1 to keep a yonko crew at bay and the other to complete the mission. That alone would've been tension enough.
Everyone would be asking, "if this is what 2 Gorosei can, what would happen when all 5 come out to play?". That plus their instant regeneration and hard to damage [for some], would've hyped them up to no end.
Alas Oda, seems to have a few screws loose. There's nothing we can do about that predicament really.
