Man I really think this is overthinking things, you might be right about the purple belonging to Kidd, but at the end of the day the explosion was caused by the cannonballs on the ship in the anime at the very least. So the blast wasn't even from the railgun.
Order of events
>Kidd's gun was broken to bits
>Slash landed on Kidd
>the impact caused the cannonballs to go off
>massive explosion was caused
>Kidd is still suspended in the air with no blast injury and goes flying back from DD's impact.
Maybe I am overthinking things lol.
Im arguing there is another thing that happened.
Kidds gun is cut while it’s charging its purple attack
After the cut the purple energy that was charging up inside the railgun goes wild and there is a small kinetic explosion that mixes up with the knockback from DD
The kinetic explosion reaches the canon balls below and explodes them causing an even bigger explosion
Kidd still suspended in the air is basically because the whole thing happened instantly, cut then small explosion that reaches below deck and explodes the canon balls and then Kidd gets blown back by DD and Purple energy from his railgun, the explosion from the canon ball doesnt reach him. Basically the entire thing happened at the same time. You cant explain to me how the canon balls who were below deck were affected by Divine Departure. Kidds gun exploding and reaching them would explain how they were set off.
This should explain why there is no searing or anything because the explosion that happened wasnt from a canon ball or anything.
When Kidd lands we still see the same purple electricity coming out of his left arm where the railgun was.
