Powers & Abilities It is over for the Devil Fruit users.

Are DF merchants screwed?

  • Yes, of course they are.

  • No, hopium is strong.

Rayleigh is the vice captain, Beckman is the vice captain, the strawhats don't really have commanders in the traditional sense, though Zoro was portrayed as being like the vice captain to the crew. Guys like Yasopp and Roo are commanders, the calamities are commanders, the sweet commanders are commanders. Oden technically joined as a commander, but contrary to the other commanders being his children, he joined as Whitebeard's brother.

King doesn't really stand out as a commander. He has no special standing. And yes, Aramaki destroyed King and Queen. Although King wasn't at this strongest, he looked pitiful. Aramaki had zero struggle even though he handled Queen at the same time.

This doesn't look like he "couldn't do shit":

Id say king is sth special bc both belong to remarkable groups (oni/lunarian) and Kaido freed him and trusted him much

Likewise, Katakuri is a conqueror with an awakened special paramecia, future sight and super armament. The right hand men commanders all have their remarkable feats, including Marco. You can argue that King is superior to both Katakuri and Marco if you want, but they would at least be in the same ballpark. Marco was holding back both King and Queen simultaneously for a short period while wasting a lot of his flames on the surroundings.

Why the hate against King, my man?
Let's be real, even if King has his Devil Fruit (DF) deactivated, he can still rely on his racial abilities, which allow him to last long enough against any Top Tier. Unlike, for example, Marco, who is extremely dependent on his DF.
King doesn't really stand out as a commander.
Oda really failed to portray this consistently; however, there's that scene where King summons the Tobi Roppo to go after Yamato for Kaidou. It's true that he used Kaidou's name, but the emphasis here is on his attitude, showing that he's different. Of course, the Tobi Roppo members can't respect him because everything revolves around a hierarchy in which King is at the top as a Calamity (Beast Pirates commander). The members who hold this title include Jack, who is considered the younger brother of King and Queen, and Queen, who was practically fawning over King and his powers during the fight against Sanji. LOL

LOL, this isn't the Comrade I know. Did you notice how X-Drake is still bedridden after the events in Wano? And X-Drake took much less powerful attacks than King. Even Marco, who is known for his regeneration and being a mythical Zoan like Luffy, was covered in bandages and, according to Shanks' words, exhausted. And all this, combined with the fact that the guy was without:
  • One of his wings
  • His sword to channel his attacks like the Imperial Dragon.
Yes, I know this disadvantage could have been compensated by adding Queen to help him, but Queen shared the same issues, and of course, there’s the fact that Green Bull's approach towards King and Queen was completely hidden from us.

Nah, I don't want to diminish King's power, but grouping him together with established top tiers like Rayleigh and Oden is a bit too much, like Nik-chin is trying to suggest it (which is indirect Zoro wank).
Yes, I know it's initially difficult to accept this, but I share the same opinion as Nik-chin @nik87 , that King is truly a monster who surpasses the right-hand man of the Pirate King (PK).
:willight:

Haki is just king. If you over rely on df and don't improve your haki much then you aren't beating a character with great haki. It's just now the higher up in strength of fighters the more haki is important. Just relying on a df isn't bad it just caps how strong you can be in op.

It was just me in the beginning but now we have the magazine saying the same: the strongest right hand in history...
That probably just refers to King being the strongest of Kaido's right hand's (calamities). After all, Jack was also introduced as Kaido's right hand man. And that's assuming the magazine is fully canon.

It's obvious King wouldn't even hold up to an old Rayleigh, let alone a prime one.

Jack was never introduced that lol
Still using misstranslations :quest:

They are grouped together as the calamities or lead performers/all stars. King's bounty is barely above Queen's. It's not the same as Beckman or Rayleigh being portrayed as the vice captains.

Smells like cope tbh. There is only one RHM and it is King, nobody else.
Which means it refers to all Right Hand Men who existed until the point Zoro has beaten him.
Roger's right hand or Joyboy's right hand, doesn't matter. King stands above.
Whether you wanna consider magazine cannon or not, godly Lunarian genes have better portrayal than aCoC.

Kaido has only one rhm

What if Joyboy's right hand was a Lunarian with ACoC though:bamathink:

Garp while being old and injured was trading blows with an admiral, blitzing and slapping him away. King with a week of rest was flattened by Aramaki as a side hustle along with Queen. Imagine Aramaki defeating prime Garp and prime Rayleigh because they haven't fully recovered from a battle from a week ago.
