What topic do you think is the most controversially and intensively discussed in the One Piece fandom and this forum in particular? 3 that come to my mind are

1. Yonko vs. admiral power level
2. Mihawk power level and meaning of the WSS title
3. Doffy power level discussion (in this forum in particular)

@Sentinel @playa4321 @Finalbeta @Bogard @Admiral Lee Hung @ShishioIsBack @HA001 @nik87 @Jiihad etc

I think I'd probably go with Mihawk power level and meaning of the WSS title. Lol.

1) Mihawk power level and the meaning of wss. Other topics stem from thing one like are Roger, Shanks, Rocks, Shiki, Fuji, BM, Law swordsmen.

2) Zoro vs Sanji. Some argue Saji is far from Zoro some argue he is close

3)Zoro vs Luffy. Some argue Zoro is far from Luffy, some argue he is close

A new one that is controversial is whether Zoro will prticipate in Kaido fight and whether he will kill him

Let's first remember a few points:
*One piece is not a primarily fighting focused manga, there's no such thing as strict "power level." Story is the author's main intention and power level is more a fan discussion thing.
*Author's semantics are above feats. We have to remember that while feats are better than nothing at all, they can be inconsistent and the author will always put story above consistency. In other words, you can't base everything on feats when the author's message supplants it.

Now's lets apply these points to the three topics.

1. First of all, we have to again be reminded that there is no such thing as "Yonko level" or "admiral level." There's enough variation between individuals among both groups that collectively grouping them together in sort of average is meaningless.
For instance, Akainu could be way stronger than Shanks, but weaker than Kaido. The author makes little discussion on this difference, so we have to turn to portrayal and feats.

And again, there's inconclusive and ambiguous portrayals among the interaction between admiral and yonkos. For instance, at marineford, Whitebeard had both success and failure against the admirals, such that people have argued both ways for which side came out looking better. The only other instance would be Blackbeard running away from Akainu, which again says little. That means the rest is up for debate and so would seem likely to generate controversy on who is stronger than who. However, one thing should be clear, there is no such thing as "yonko level" or "admiral level." All the individual yonko and admirals are unique. Admiral is merely a high rank and Yonko a prestigous title. I'm pretty sure most would agree Luffy is the weakest member among all the emperors and admirals.

2. This should not be controversial. Oda has made it clear Mihawk>Shanks, but certain fans of Shanks don't seem to want to accept it. You can argue feats and indirect portrayals of yonko endlessly. But at the end of the day, Oda has made it clear Mihawk is above Shanks from their rivalry and WSS title. For example, you could debate whether Big Mom, Rayleigh, or even Fujitora classify under WSS title, but Shanks-Mihawk is pretty much unequivocal evidence that Shanks is considered when discussing WSS.
e.g. No one would say Mihawk is the Word's strongest swordsmen, in which his main rival is considered in such a title.

3. It's hard to judge individual strength in general. So yeah, this is would be widely available for debate. So, in a sense, this would be the only controversial topic.

Specifically about Mihawk, but its really about Mihawk and Zoro at once. Any thread about Zoro means its also a thread about Mihawk, and vice versa. To the fandom, they are one entity split in two.

Because of this cool calm bored-face entity, lets call it Zorhawk, people is debating about the WSS title.

The ones who support him being the strongest being ever, and the ones who don't: These imo are the two main factions that struggle against each other, to that any argument about him being weaker than a certain standard, becomes a proclaimed downplay from the opposing faction. This also applies the other way around, any argument about him being stronger than a certain standard, becomes a proclaimed downplay from the supporting faction.

That being said, about this issue, i personally don't like to prolong my involvement in it. If i have stated my point about how strong Mihawk is, how strong Zoro is or going to be, and to be WSS in OP is the same case of being WSS in real life -and i think i have - i don't think i should remain in prolonged debates and bickering at each other.

As long as i myself can present an argument without mocking other users, i believe this topic can be talked about calmly even though we wont be able to drastically change other people's perspective, especially when we ourselves may also have our own wishful thinking.

Zoro vs Sanji
Mihawk downplay largely a result of this. that means the Mihawk debates are part Sanji fans, part Shanks wankers and part Luffy wankers fault.

its purely on Sanji fans though. as they can not accept defeat and keep pressing the issue.
Zoro fans try to educate them on the matter, but they proof very resilient to common sense.

Yonko vs admirals difficulty is a real debate. It is here on WG just because there is a vocal minority.

Mihawk powerlevel maybe arouses discussion since or somebody overdoes it or others can not stand to see it too high. Sometimes the 2 extremes collides and boom.

Doffy powerlevel is just good for laughs when you see people compare it to Kata and above, but really there are not many Doffy wankers around and these are just a minority of his fanbase.

Zoro vs Sanji is the real deal. They are 2 of the main characters, 2nd and 3rd if the crew so big fanbases for both. Their powers can somewhat be compared and also Oda indirectly teases the fandoms when he make the 2 bicker, then every fandom judges what rach of them do every chapters distributing W and L left amd right and with opposite agendas.. Basically a building full of powder ready to explode each and every chapter with the minimal action/provocation (see Zoro vs Kamazou or Sanji vs P1).

Seems like the most controversial opinion to have around here is that ALL powerscaling is futile and totally subjective, and you’re wasting your time arguing pointless bullshit when you could just enjoy the series for what it actually is - a fun story about wacky characters smashing the oppressive political machine and eating magical fruits so they can beat the shit out of each other.:luuh:

Imo top 5 are
1. Zoro vs sanji- i mean it's old as one piece its self and people love to scale them depending on the topic at hand.

2. Admirals vs yonko- still despite the manga constantly placing them on the same level the community somehow is confused.

3. Anything related to mihawk - this breaks down to how strong is he compared to other top tiers, mihawk vs shanks (which could have its own spot), what makes a swordsman, arguing WSS , etc.

4. Old gen vs current gen - even tho theres a clear gap since the old gen way out of their prime can still keep up with current gen some still argue craziness. Examples akainu could push to extreme diff or even beat roger, kaido is stronger than wb and roger, or shanks is near roger and stronger than prime rayleigh.

5. Tie imo mingo power level and Yonko vs marines/WG - yonko vs marines/WG stems from some who think wbp somehow greatly pushed the marines so 1 yonko equals the marines or close to it. While mingo power level is just people drastically over rating mingo because he's a excellent character.
