Lol what? Couldn’t he just say that capturing Garp was so easy that he didn’t even need to go all out to do it? Wouldn’t that make him look even more impressive to BB?

Idk, its much more "on the table" now then it was before, Pudding got almost the same amount of thematic relevance as Garp right now, and she's Sanjis bride (right?). Its possible that she's used to give Sanji a powerup against somebody but that BM statement by her combined with how it seemed like she still had gas in the tank going down makes me think that this gave new life to the BM theory. I mean, she DOES have a good side with O-Lin. We've seen Lucci and Kaku pop up again and given a good side even.

It took most of Kuzan to get near Garp as much as Mihawk wasn't holding back against preskip Luffy and apologizing to Shanks.

We know it's semantics. Obviously, Kuzan was serious. Doesn't mean he was using 100% of his power. Punk Hazard was just the aftermath of Kuzan and Sakazuki fighting in the middle, with a magma man suffering grievous injury.

It's not about impressing BB, it's about gaining his complete trust and make him believe that he's now cold blooded, who tries his 100% for the success of crew.

Also, beating Garp easily would just make him think that Garp and Kuzan planned this and Garp gave up. BB himself knows beating Garp is not easy.
