No. It's simply the logical result of their political leanance. The conservatist rightists have by definition less knowledge about the realities of the world, they are less knowledgable about activism, less knowledgable about social sciences, more encline to fall into meritocratic bias, etc. So by essence, republican (as they are today) are worse than simple liberal (who are not very knowledgable about those subject as well, but at least more progressive)
Thinking that they are equally bad is creating the confusionnist invisibilization of the fact that one side is pursposefully attacking minorities when the other does not or less. It's ignoring the fact that one side support BS measures while the others is at least open to the discussion with more progressive ones. It's the invisibilation of the fact that one side is anti-science when the other is not.
And this shows why I don't really have to take your opinion into account when it come to this matter.
