Luffy back in the east blue was able to dent and destroy Don kriegs wootz steel armor with enough attacks

He also is shown breaking through some Franky Family’s steel armor

As for Mr. 3’s armor first off it’s harder than iron not steel that’s just a mistranslation but second off density definitely matters and it took luffy a bunch of concentrated attacks to destroy steel. It wasn’t at all a casual feat f



Zoro not being able to cut iron was a big deal pre alabasta. It was only after daz that he could cut iron such as the iron cloud, iron body, iron cannonballs, etc.

We also have 2 clear cut cases of zoro outright saying he can cut iron but not steel
Sanji refers to them as being made of some type of steel. With zoro on top of that emphasizing that he can’t cut them because they’re tougher than iron



Tho tbf while Zoro couldn’t straight up cut steel pre timeskip with his so he should definitely be able to dent/damage it and he did
Chopper in arm and monster point also might’ve been able to dent iron and even steel along with the monster trio pre timeskip. The chopper fact isn’t really relevant I just think it’s funny and cool for him lol

Post timeskip the monster trio have all grown strong enough to all casually deal with steel



Another tbf to both luffy and zoro
  1. Blunt damage is a lot more effective than cutting when it’s something zoro can't cut. Like pre alabasta luffy having to an easier time denting it while zoro couldn’t yet cut it
  2. When zoro can cut something it’s going to be a lot easier and more effective for him to get past it than luffy. Again with iron post timeskip zoro can cut through iron like it’s butter. While iron isn’t a big deal at all for post skip he dents it instead

Seems that way, if Luffy used Gomu Gomu Canon on DonKrieg he would have broke his Armor in one go..

Also didn't you provide me a panel about Zeff being able to his foot inprint on Steel wheres as Luffy's hardening
put his face inprint on Iron.. That means Zeff CoA level must higher than Hardening.. Perhaps he could do CoA

Zoro couldn't Cut Steel and couldn't Damage Daz Bonez (A Very Powerful Elite Fighter).
It doesn't Translate to Zoro didn't have any way to Damage Steel in General

If you bothered to read Zoro vs Mr. 1 without those Bias Glasses, you'd notice that Zoro had Tactics to deal with Steel,
They simply didn't work on Mr. 1

Imagine thinking multiple Piercing & Tora Gari & Sword Breakings Attacks wouldn't have dented and eventually destroyed Steel Armor like the one worn by Krieg or Franky Family

And btw, Daz Bonez didn't eat Iron Iron No Mi,
He ate Blade DF which means not only He can turn into Blades which are mainly Steel, but they don't have a fixed Durability, obviously the better you Master the DF, the harder the Blade you can create, so don't compare him to any Steel, let alone mere Iron

And it's not like Zoro didn't destroy Blades before, He did it against Hatchan using Force generated by Oni Giri.
However, He tried both Oni Giri & Tora Gari against Mr. 1 together & it didn't work, cuz Daz isn't a guy you meet everyday

So Luffy could damage steel back in Baratie, but couldn't damage steel in Sabody despite getting way stronger. Even the M3 together had trouble breaching steel in Sabady. Luffy and Zoro also equal physical strength as shown in Whiskey Peak, which is after Baratie.

This steel topic doesn't add nor take away from either Luffy or Zoro.

They did.

Zoro + Hachi shattered them with a combination of their named attacks.

Zoro is too weak to cut even iron, he states it against Daz Bonez

That's the sheer difference between East Blue Luffy and Grand Line Zoro, one can demolish super steel with his bare hands, but Zoro can't even cut iron with magic swords...
