I've sent him PMs before yes. I have even shown him empathy as to his issues; have tried to clarify positions, etc.

I've actually tried to be peaceful with him on many occasions. Nonetheless, he treats me like a political enemy, when I don't necessarily think the right and left have to be in such heated opposition. Whatever his "cause" is doesn't matter, for his messages only alienate me further away from whatever he's trying to say, mainly because how he speaks down to his opposition.

It's really no wonder we argue.

I think certain political leanings are treated with more favourability by the mods. Granted, this may actually be because one side does more reports.

I genuinely don't think C4N should be here at times (note: not always). It's not because of his mental issues, unlike what other people have said. It's the way he treats other users (those he doesn't agree with). He is the King of Snide Comments. He cannot just leave people be and will respond to everything and try to flaunt some kind of moral superiority as he does so. He never tries to understand the other side, and instead demonises you with some many -isms that it makes productive conversation impossible.

He derides people consistently whilst being just sly enough to avoid repercussion. I guess he's smarter than Bob was in that regard. I don't think he's always intentionally being an ass, but there is only so much veiled: "If only you were smart enough to see the world I see," that I can take. It's... just so fucking obnoxious.

I genuinely wish I could be amicable with him. I've tried on many occasions to reach out; and I've even tried to offer an olive branch. Yet one disagreement with his principles (even if you're not talking with him) leads to a fifty-line tirade on why you're evil. I've experienced it too many times now... so much that I'm just tired, lmao.

1 - I do understand the other side. Simply because I COME from the other side.
2 - I'm acting a certain kind of way with certain kind of people. It's not a behavior things, it's a political strategy
3 - I'm intolerant to hatred, intolerance and false informations. This is not me being an *ss, it's me giving a sh*t

Any different opinion and calling out the hypocrisy and you’re just a “lib”. Any comments about bettering yourself to do better with dating and you’re met with pessimism.

Is it really a surprise that many of those individuals just call their opposers "lib" and become increasingly extreme when all they receive is mockery?

Often or not these are young men with mental health issues, who aren't socially affluent or resource rich. They are lacking in confidence and skills. Yet they are mocked, rejected and cast aside. They are never given a chance to become better people. As a result, it's no wonder they're easily manipulated by people who give them a "solution" even when those solutions are toxic as fuck.

Those mocking them often give them the wrong advice, for there are differences between men and women, and the advice is often female-centric.

The way to 'convert' an incel is to help him better himself without mocking him. It requires the one thing the left has a so-called abundance of: empathy.

We're in one of the loneliest eras of mankind for both men and women. It's a sad state of affairs and most certainly political.

but I think that the argument about authority between marxists and anarchists may give an important perspective on it,

Marxists think that you must have a really strong state to opress the rich and act the interests of the poor, and that there is nothing more authoritarian than a revolution, because it is imposing the will of the people, and authority is the act of someone imposing their will on someone else,

Anarchists think that you must not use authority, but the opposite of it, and they say that a revolution is the opposite of authoritarianism, and that you must not use a state to get socialism, why

Because an example of authoritarianism is a slave owner enslaving people and beating their slaves, a husband abusing his wife, the slave owner imposes their will on the slaves, and the abusive husband imposes his will on the abused wife or children,

If the slaves overthrow the slave owner, do they impose their will on the slave owner, or do they just stop the act of the slave owner's will being imposed on them?

If the abused wife or children run away, do they impose their will, that of not being abused, on the abusive husband, or do they stop the act of his will, that of abusing them, being imposed on them?,

Anarchists say the slaves do not impose their will on the "owner" by overthrowing them, but that the slaves stop the act of someone's will being imposed on them,

I don’t disagree. But why should we make the politics thread about that when there’s a thread for it already? And why is it that only young lonely men get the benefit of the doubt in your eyes and not people like C4N or myself? I have a lot more empathy for users that are involuntarily celibates and are trying to better themselves than those who blame women for their celibacy, which you seem to be a lot more charitable toward.

Which is not possible to do when the first thing an incel says to you when you try to be empathic is how sexist you are because you think women have it harder.

You do not understand that the lack of empathy is not something that is done because we can't do this on the left, it's not something that is done because it can't work from us.

Empathy will only work when Incels think their are talking to someone with a similar vision of the world. or when they really try to question their own behaviors.

Also, you really do not get the paradox of tolerance. People are not here on the left to be nice with incels, people are here to protect women FROM THEM. Go have tolerance and empathy for those poor souls on your own time if you have the energy to deal with them, don't ask us, especially women to do that when we are already fighting for our lives in most cases.

Unless I missed something, I don't think Marxism is about oppressing the rich, it's simply meant to prevent the bourgeoisie to come in power.

Indeed. Which is a legitimate things to do. But we have to be careful with that assertion because it can be used as a reason for oppression. Israel is doing just that right now.

Rather than talking about who is attacking who and depoliticizing the point by making it an individual problem, we need to repoliticize it and understand the dynamics of domination in presence.

For example, in the case of Incels, men are in a state of domination over women, the reaction of women and leftists who fight with them is therefore legitimate. Same of Israel, Israel is the oppressor in the relation of domination between itself and Palestinians, therefore that action of resistance is legitimate.

The reason why there is that response to incels is because it’s outright negative and gross behavior. There is no excuse to be bitter and having mean spirited and sexist ideologies and supporting politics that oppresses people. Not generalizing but look at America right now.

Plenty of help and conversations happens with these people but they refuse like it’s a ideology. Instead they dig deeper, identify with it, build their politics with it. That’s why people are fed up.
