Blackbeard would get an ancient zoan fruit from the strongest marine of the previous generation just like he got the paramecia of the strongest pirate of the same generation.
I undestand, but there would have been far less convoluted methods to have BB killing Sengoku.
Not having him kidnap Koby, just to have Garp rescue him, just to have Garp defeated there, just to have Sengoku and Tsuru going there, just to have the second rescue attempt at the same Island in the span of 100 (?) chapters fail (again, somehow) with another legendary marine falling at Beehive.
Sure, It would make logical sense for Sengoku and Tsuru to go and save Garp, but at this point It wouldn't make narrative sense.
It would be either a more of the same or Oda basically destorying the build up he created with Garp's defeat (if the manage to free him)
I can see Sengoku against CG much more.
If Sengoku and Tsuru are doing anything relevant it’s most likely to be with Cross Guild. They were talking about how they are a massive threat to the Marines that need to be dealt with quickly.
It makes very little sense for them to go to Garp, where as you’ve pointed out, plot-wise brings nothing.
Sengoku and Tsuru are also meant to be the strait-laced, by-the-book Marines compared to Garp being the maverick. Garp went on an unauthorised rescue mission because that’s his character. Sengoku and Tsuru are not going to do anything so rash and unauthorised, and I’m not convinced that Akainu will give permission to rescue Garp. He might, on the other hand, give permission to go after Cross Guild since they are explicitly targeting Marines in a way no other Yonko ever has.
I agree.
Sengoku was somehow connected to the CG plot and that Is the direction I would be pointing at.
I undestand It would make logical sense for them to go and try to save Garp (even thought they don't know if he Is alive), but It wouldn't have any narrative sense now.
