If Oda doesn’t make Saint Shanks evil, Garling or Shamrock are probably Saint Shanks fights. As much as I don’t want to admit it, Oda is probably hyping Saint Shanks Haki as being on the level of the Twenty Kings lol.

I forgot about Shanks for a second, but yeah if not Dragon then I think Shanks might fight his father.

See @kurwa i got the impression with Saturn being killed and replaced that these current 5 Gorosei were not necessarily the originals and just the five current ones. Like there had potentially been even more Gorosei throughout the centuries. The Gorosei struck me as just a small part of a much larger history imo. Like all twenty kings should be superior to the Gorosei.

Back then when the Yonko, Warlords and Marines were in a somewhat deadlock preferred by the WG, and you, Dragon, are alone against Imu, five elders, god knights, entire Marines, CP0, hundreds of WG-Pro countries that have your pictures, bounty hunters and other pirates.

At that point Dragon’s only got Base Sabo and an imprisoned Iva. Truly a desperate time.

While I do still think Shanks will be somewhat of an antagonist, I don't think he will be a full on villain.

I also still believe that Shamrock might get defeated by Luffy at the end of the Elbaf arc.

So maybe during the final war, Shanks himself will fight and defeat his father Garling.

While Dragon either helps out his son against Imu or just continues being a useless bum.
