Sorry Djordje-chin but Mihawk literally is him.
We just found out that copium huffers lost their major straw because I decided to sink it today. :milaugh:
Yes he is him, strongest among middle generation and characters like Shanks and Kaido. Too bad he is not the one meant to surpass Roger and Whitebeard thats Zoro and Luffy role.

Correct, surpassing Roger and Whitebeard is not something for Mihawk...
...because he is far stronger than both of them.
Luffy's role is not to surpass anyone in strength, his role is liberation. Leave strength to Zoro. :goyea:

I always thought Mihawk was talking in metaphors and was saying something was up with Whitebeard, that he was weaker than he should be. It was foreshadowing that Whitebeard wasn't healthy and Mihawk was the first one to notice this. He swings a testing slash at Whitebeard to see what happens and behold, it isn't even Whitebeard that deals with it. Jozu steps in. Almost like Jozu is concerned about his captain's failing health.

It being purely about distance is would be pretty lame. In an arena of numerous cunning characters, Mihawk's sharp eyes picking up on Whitebeard's condition is cooler in my opinion. It gives him a nice extra bit of characterisation.
Seconded. Always thought of this too.

"Seems rather small" ~ He looks less of a threat than before.

Ergo, he's already on the decline.

I do not think Mihawk was talking about strength.

But I also do not think Mihawk was talking about the literal physical distance. He doesn't need a slash with those eyes.
It was simply that while WB was looking literally so close to the enemies, the true distance meant that they cannot reach him. He appeared closer, right there for the taking but it was actually not so since he had his commanders to come and stand in front of him. Any kingdom reader would understand what I am saying here. Taking the head of the enemy general is what matters the most and it seemed that WB was too easy to be taken as he had presented himself right in front of everyone.

@nik87 I think you missed with the wording a little bit, people are taking the physical measurement thing too literally and I think you were trying to say what I just said above.

When you show me manga scan that says stronger weapon means stronger user then I will agree.
It is called common sense. Everyone should be able to put 2 and 2 together.
Strongest weapon that is a result of haki forging it and lifting its rank and making it #1 is logically a tell tale that the user has the strongest haki and well, the strongest haki means the strongest character because >Haki conquers everything.

When Mihawk attempted to measure the distance between him and Whitebeard, he was stopped by Jozu
So the distance is literally Jozu, he has to surpass him first in order to contest with Whitebeard
That’s why YC5 Vista was sent to halt Mihawk’s advance
:risisure:
Yes, unironically Jozu proved that the true distance is bigger than what it is physically. :milaugh:
Ah yes, because Mihawk really needs to check if Whitebeard's subordinates will in fact protect Whitebeard. :watchout:

Why do you people make everything so lame?:Shadow_Unimpressed:
Yes, they have shown that true distance is bigger.
And dont forget Kizaru attempting to do the same thing Mihawk did - not measuring Power whatsoever. :myman:

Seconded. Always thought of this too.

No, it has nothing to do with CoO and power scaling.
Both Kizaru and Mihawk attempted the same thing - take Whitebeard out.
It has nothing to do with gap in power but Whitebeard being close, in range to be taken out.
But Marco responds that king cannot be taken out so early, proving that true distance is bigger than what Mihawk(and Kizaru) thought.

He did not admit inferiority to the WB that stood before him, but he sure as hell did admit he's inferior to the WB that was the world's strongest man.
If only there was any evidence of this nonsense... The last straw was sunk today by context.
People simply have already determined that Whitebeard is stronger than Mihawk and dont care about anything else.
You are one of those. And like all others, you too are wrong.

Great Thread. Mihawk was literally the most Powerful individual in Marineford because old Whitebeard was sick.
Sickness has nothing to do with it, even if it was Primebeard, Mihawk was stronger.
Neither Mihawk nor Kizaru have attempted to measure power difference, they attempted the same thing - to take out WB right away.
