I’ve beat him on three characters and I never figured that attack out. Lol

Malenia’s attacks are all dodgeable. Even waterfowl isn’t that bad for me in 2025, the sprint to the left trick largely completely neuters the attack if you know what you’re doing.

That consort clone shit, I haven’t figured it out yet. Lol

Yeah I used a guide, but I don’t actually think it’s as hard as waterfowl once you know what to do

It's definitely the most accessible of the souls games. I'd say it's worth it! There's alot of fun to be had, a first playthrough of a souls game is always special.

It's similar to Dark souls, no talent trees. But you can change weapon skills around if you like

I would say it's like DS but better/more QoL... There's different "classes" or start lvl 1 like FromSoft usually has in their games.
You can get different weapons etc that have different executable moves.
No Talent Trees but there's Many different Trees.

Its not that hard, or i should say its as hard as you want it to be. Use everything that the game offers you to make it easier for yourself in the first play through imo. And then make it more challenging the next few play throughs

Bayle, The Dreaded Camera.

This is my 3rd Shadow of the Erdtree playthrough where I clean through rememberance bosses like it's your average ng+1 Limgrave experience just to get eternally fucked by Bayle and to lesser extent, Sennesax.

I think I own Decaying Ekzykes an apology. Stuck at Bayle for longer than freaking Radahn.

A limited lock on that specifically fucks with melee build? Check.

Omnipresent hitboxes? Check

Peak fuckery cam that doesn't zoom away (general thing but specifically for that boss that can't be melee'd easily?)? Check

I won't deny Bayle is thematically amazing, but the targeting completely ruins all his fun moveset.

Any one else beat Malenia without any summons? Just solo. Can't remember if I asked before.

I never play online so I just summon spirit ash or another npc available for certain boss fights.

I did entire playthrough base game + dlc with no ash spirit or NPC summons. Mohg and Malenia required me to change my builds from melee to spellcaster . Did not have to do same for Consort Radahn btw which surprised me.
