Chapter Discussion Roger is a complete fraud now?

#3
We know 0.2% of his actual journey.

- Sengoku, the fleet admiral who hates pirates, goes out of his way to address Roger with his proper title "King of the Pirates", multiple times.
- Sakazuki, the fleet admiral who hates pirates, holds reverence for Roger as the Pirate King, somebody who sat on the throne as the peak.
- Garp, same way holds Roger in extremely high regards and the only one who he thought was worth competing with out of their generation of pirates.
- Narrator, in this very flashback addresses Roger with respect making sure to highlight Roger being King of the Pirates before while listing down Rocks pirates their hype.

To call Roger a fraud is to essentially call all these characters frauds, even though they've seen Roger's journey.

If Roger didn’t exist, Luffy’s dream wouldn’t either. The whole next generation surpassing the old theme depends on Roger having set that bar in the first place. Without Roger, there is no story to begin with. His POINT isn’t about beating Xebec alone. It’s about discovering the truth, inspiring freedom, and setting the world in motion.

My opinion on Roger dropped drastically when it was revealed he never beat any of his 100 equals and sneaked around to become PK when nobody else cared about reaching the last island. It's like winning a race where no else showed up. He better beat Xebec otherwise it's over for him.

You think the character that is the MC's benchmark is a fraud?

You base this all on nothing which is all we have seen from him so far.:choppawhat:
He ain't MCs Benchmark. He runs away, does nothing.
There was a time when I used to think Luffy is shit and nothing like roger who wants to solve mysteries, do adventures and find treasures...
Well that still stays.. Luffy is still in that regard..but now Roger is also a fraud.

Shiki goes after a woman while his captain is in the toughest fight of his life
While he attacked Marineford alone when Roger was supposed to be killed
Almost all of the Rocks crew refer to Roger as the goat
Roger is definitely the most influential and powerful pirate of the past 800 years after Joy Boy

We once though pirate king was a great title. But it turns out wg suppressed the actual impressive people.

And now it turns out Roger didn't even beat xebec, what's the point of Rogers even in the story? He's basically he's generations Ace.
I agree, Xebec should be the Pirate King for his amazing feat of losing his crew and dying at God Valley.

There will always be a D at the pinnacle of power. Be it Roger or Xebec. Its always a D that creates storm and history. Other characters are unworthy/irrelevant in grand scheme of things. Waiting next is Godfy supremacy.
