That's not true. Roger couldn't do shit with one piece.

Xebec clearly knew more about the world as he knew what he needed to do to have a chance against imu.

• Roger and Xebec were fierce rivals
• Garp apparently was most interested in rivaling Roger
• Captain of Rayleigh, who even in old age went toe to toe with Kizaru and made a Yonko retreat
• Random no name Roger pirates were already strong enough to waste guys like Kyo, who was said to be Shiki's rival

With Rayleigh easily wasting Sommers, Garling would've met the same fate against Roger.

Is it still fair to give Xebed the benefit of the doubt of being the strongest by virtue of the feats he displayed? Sure. But he isn't on a different level.

Hmmmhh I think we just all had a different idea of how Roger was gonna behave and act in the story and now that we're seeing him more often in these flashbacks he's basically an adult version of Luffy, while we all kinda wanted Rocks, he's just wild and ruthless leading a bunch of wild and ruthless mfs, I mean he's the man....

But we saw Roger clashing with WB both here and in Oden's flashback we know he's strong and no one after him was able to reach Laugh Tale and Rocks didn't even come close to reach his goal

So In the end I think we're all a bit disappointed cuz he got hyped for well the whole series and now Rocks is more appealing as a character ( probably cuz we also matured so a goofy character is no longer that easy to see themselves in, let's be real if u could chose to be a OP character RN would you be the goofy Roger ( even if u know he's strong af ? ) or the man himself Rocks? )

Narrator never said it was era of Xebec , Garp and Roger . He simply said Garp , Roger and Xebec , three that would be known as legends in great pirate era. Great pirate era started after founding one piece.

Narrator said despite Roger being active it would not be an overstatement to call it Rocks era .

There is nothing this trash can do that will change anything we know he is teaming up with Larp to side with the wg and cd later on.
Like you mentioned despite his stacked crew he was such a coward he was unwilling to do anything about Imu. This garbage is what people want us to respect
