I did shave my head once and realised I’mma be screwed one day. The difference in treatment is radical.
You're Turkish aka at the source
Because creating another place just implies that trans people do not belong in the place reserved for their gender. It's dehumanizing them.
For what reasons ? Their appearance
And what about intersex people? Do they need another bathroom too because they do not look like the "norm"?
Why do you feel the need to use the word 'dehumanizing' in such an.inflationary manner?
As I see it, one big problem is the reinforcement of the binary norm.
If you take a look at other cultures who traditionally know of more than 2 genders, they usually have a 3rd gender altogether or even more. The current trans debate expects individuals to conform to pre existing male and female boxes.
Understanding that a trans woman is not the same as a cis woman is not dehumanizing. It's accepting reality.
Society needs to evolve to a point where everyone is accepted for who they are. As long as the binary standard is prevalent, trans people will have a harder time struggling to accept their physical reality.
A society that accepts a trans person's identity foe what it is, might even lead to less affirmative surgeries since as of right now, the reconciliation of one sex's body and the other gender's mind don't seem to work foe many people, leading to gender dysphoria and eventual medical procedures that are often taxing on body and mind and may lead to health complications.
Unfortunately to everyone's detriment, the ones feigning trans allyship are corporations that make a lot of money through surgery and hormones.
The medical industry managed to create an entirely new pationt group out of thin air by selling them the dream of changing their place in the binary, dualistic society we currently live with.
We must leave behind this narrow world view and embrace humans for who they are goddamnit.
controversial take but the unisex one should be smaller as the rate of trans people is far lower than the rate of cis people iirc
Unisex means for everyone. Like unisex clothing for example.
