Speculations Did Mihawk actually make Yoru black?

#1
So much of the hype for Mihawk comes from this belief that he made Yoru black, while very few other swordsmen have accomplished this feat. With top tiers like Rocks, Roger, and Shanks not having a black blade.

While it is entirely possible Mihawk made Yoru black, there’s another possibility entirely. That just like pre-skip Zoro, Mihawk simply acquired a blade that was already made black. With Yoru’s original owner possibly being a follower of Joyboy.

Mihawk to Zoro: "Every weapon can be turned into a black blade like mine"

Monkey D Theories conclusion: Mihawk found Yoru.
I agree, but when Kaido explains how awakening works, some people still don't think he has it.
I mean didn’t Gyukimaru and Oden’s dad basically say the same thing?

While it is likely Mihawk did make Yoru black, we have no way of knowing where Oda is going with this.

EoS power creep is very real. Imu can low diff PK tier characters like Rocks.

Really wouldn’t be a surprise if the art of creating black blades was something only ancient legends could do.

So since we know for a fact a sword chooses it's user as stated in the narrative, are you trying to imply the strongest blade in existence chose Mihawk, instead of Roger, WB, BM, Shiki, Rayleigh, Scopper, Xebec, Shanks, Nusjuro, Fujitora, Greenbull etc etc?

One can say then that only Mihawk possessed the qualities to wield the strongest blade in the world.

And then this is supported by the statement in One Piece Rainbow (An animation artbook authored by Oda, with a sketch of Mihawk with commentary) which talks about no one being able to wield Yoru but Mihawk.

Normally you would think this applies only to current day, as in who is currently alive in the world, since Roger is dead, but if Yoru was already the strongest blade it would have existed in the Roger and Xebecs era and still didn't choose them as it's owner.

Therefore one could then say, none of the possessed the qualities to wield the strongest sword.

Either way it goes full circle. Mihawk Upscale
