That's a serious narrative problem, but not on that front.
Rocks and Roger somehow did the same thing: they give birth/inspired the next gen, which is Luffy for Roger and BV for Rocks; they are the one who are going to do it.
The problem with Rocks is that is plotline about his fight against Imu/teh WG ended so abruptly, without a real conclusion. he didn't issue a final challenge against Imu, he didn't manage to even wound him in the end.
Yes, he was stopped and ended like that only because he wanted to save his family, but I wanted a more respectful ending.
