So GV is just mere fraction of Harald/Loki flashback lol.
Maybe the hype back in chap 957 was too much that we expect a little too much.
Oda excels at creating hype around by teasing it.
At the end it's not even a major events that Oda likes to separate specifically and write a detailed events about.

Xebec too, from being speculated to be a secret final boss by many and still alive somewhere to play bigger role........turns out he's just merely for a Teach upscale and secondary character of someone else flashback.
Most of his actions and W are offscreen too.

Muweh.

I’m still not buying Xebec’s death. He could very well be the burned scar man. The whole death scene never lingered, which isn’t Oda’s usual style. The island sinking could tie in with the whirlpool lore and shit too. Maybe Xebec went straight to Davy Jones’ locker, then came back lol.

That aside, I really like Garp and Dragon’s interaction here. The dialogue this chapter is great, and the fact that they don’t exchange many words actually makes the moment hit even harder.
The CHAMP doesn't have time to do fake outs. He lives for his kills being CONFIRMED
:CoolPeace:

Gotta love Dragon's determination. Even as 17, the dude had balls to threaten his superiors over civilians life, and even after being sent to jail, he decided to cut ties with his father, later forming a revolutionary army to rebel against the World Government

Mr. East didn't always looked East :pepecafe:
Garp implied they still talk so i think him "Cutting" ties is just eh a thing in the moment

I don’t think that Barbell will be given such an enormous role lol 😭😭😂
Idk, given that Nika was first referenced to Jinbe from WsW and the Sun imagery for their tatoo was due to this, I think they (Fishmen) are more important than we give them credit for.

Just saying that if Barbell and Sunbell are related, the former could have taken the RP because the latter already was part of the PKs crew and knew its use.

The only one who can beat me is me
Kaido just randomly said “I’m going to start a crew where brutality is law!” with no prior build up after getting stabbed in the nose, and Kaido fans are acting like this flashback saved his character because there was one goofy panel of him eating a devil fruit
:Patrickthink::Patrickthink::Patrickthink::Patrickthink:
@Elder Lee Hung @MarineHQ @Kurozumi Wiwi @MonsterKaido @Shiroyru @The DevilMaster @SakazOuki
This flashback made his character even a bigger mess, like he was fun to watch but objectively his character makes even less sense than before now.

The only W Kaido got was eating his devil fruit, that is basically it.

Other than that, nothing about Kaido was hyped during this flashback and this flashback did not make his character better at all.

Kaido stans are actually fucking pathetic if they truly believe this flashback made his character better.

Odas worst habit might be his love of undermining what currently is happening, to go and hype something for the future. Xebec was pretty much used to undermine the status of the current Yonko in the story(Kaido and BM) as just some of many who followed him, with Xebec being the kind of guy to study the worlds secrets and really piss off those at the top of the world. And once we actually see Xebec, the only thing he really "looked into" was shit that the Davys all know, because they're connected to Davy Jones. His goal of wanting to rule the world is pretty much a meaningless reference to Teach and (Davy Jones, presumably), with Xebcs actual plot relevant goal just being a generic wanting to save his family thing,And Imcel only cared to kill him for being connected to Davy Jones. At this point, the void century could just be people talking about how crazy the first world was, until it all turns out to be somewhat disappointing.

Its not about plot but I expected way more fights and longer ones like ray and gaban vs shiki and BM , Kaido vs holy knights etc

You saying oda couldn't give them in 5-6 pages of fights? :josad:
Too many top tiers were there , plus it was a flashback so I really did not expect bigger amount of fights or more prolonged fights . I kinda expected same as Oden vs Kaido which we got in the end.

But I did expect Xebec death to be more impactful in this chapter , for him to reveal some lore to Roger at least. To know actual reason why island disappeared ( judging from spoilers its not even revealed ).

Yeah plot of GV is really disappointing.
