But if the WG is actively stopping his diplomacy what do you think would be the result if Harald kept trying to force it? That’s a declaration of war.
If. But we've never seen the WG try. We've never seen IMU's reaction to Harald's policy. For all we know, he could've been left alone to do his little proto-Yonko territory as long as he kept away from their nations.

Harald probably realized his mistake too late when Imu asked him to create the giant army which is not the path he is pursuing. He summoned Loki and Jarul to form the army because they seems to be the two strongest giants on the island.

The elders might have a part to play in this in revenge to what Loki did to the clan and his way of ruling the country. They likely framed Harald of treason and ordered the troops to kill him. That lead to what Loki and Jarul saw in the flashback.

Still not sure who creates the huge scratch mark on the throne room. Either Harald gains a demon form, God's Knights intervention, or Loki's DF power.

The Revs are already proving that you can work outside the WG without being annihilated.
Are you serious
:suresure::suresure::suresure::suresure::suresure::suresure:

The Revolutionary Army is at explicit war with the World Government
:suresure::suresure::suresure::suresure::suresure::suresure:

Harald doesn’t want to go to fucking war with the WG, he wants peace with them LMFAO

What exact future do you think Harald is trying to create for the children of Elbaph? The type of future where if they sneeze too loud, six Cipher Pol agents show up and murder them on sight?
:suresure::suresure::suresure::suresure::suresure::suresure:

Jesus H. Fucking Christ bro lmfao.

Of their 8-nation revolution, only Lulusia was erased*, and for reasons less connected with the population and more with what Sabo saw in MJ.
Harald had all the manpower to enlarge his network of diplomatic deals with other nations without having to bow to the WG.
And the rest of those nations are at explicit war with the Government
:suresure::suresure::suresure::suresure::suresure::suresure:

If Harald wanted to go to war with the WG, he should absolutely do what you suggested and copy *checks notes* the actions of the fucking Revolutionary Army

We did? We were told outright by Harald that the WG was getting in the way of his diplomacy. And yeah yonko territories have to live in constant state of combat. What Harald wanted to avoid. The WG was literally Haralds only way to achieve his dream.

Hurr durr, why would Harald's attempts at grand diplomacy be ultimately futile without the official approval of the WG?!
Which boils down to "your people were shitheads in the past; prove us that you've changed."
Does have giants in the Marines help clear their reputation? Yes.
Is kneeling to the Gorosei and marking yourself as their slave for life the immediate most logical step? Not so sure.

I've cited the RA on purpose as an extreme case. If the RA, who are directly opposing the WG out in the open, haven't been wiped out, then Elbaf wouldn't have been either for simply sticking to diplomatic deals with the human nations surrounding them.

I think Ida was from some sort of special clan. One Imu wanted eradicated.

Maybe she had buccaneer blood or Davy blood, or something of the sort. Idk.

Anyways I think Imu ordered Harald to kill Hajrudin, causing the rift between the two that led to Harald being DR’d and Loki being forced to kill him.

Realistically I cannot see any other reason why Harald would betray Imu at this point. He already betrayed Rocks for the WG, ripped his horns out, even became a CD and bowed to Imu.

The only thing I can see causing Harald to change sides is if the WG threatened his family. And we know they have no issues with Loki, as Loki was similarly offered a place amongst the HKs. It has to be Hajrudin. He has something special, which is why he’s worthy to be king, and why the WG wanted him dead, forcing Harald to cut ties with them.

Did Harald really make a mistake? What other choice did he have? He went with whatever gave Elbaf a chance at peace with the rest of the world. How could he have known of Imu's true nature as not only the king of the world but the actual devil who uses magic to make his targets submit? Before being invited to the throne room Harald didn't even know of Imu's existence. He's far from as naive as Oden who was aware of the enemy throughout his years of sorry attempts at diplomacy. Harald did his best to serve Elbaf. He didn't even fail as hard as we thought he will, the giants' reputation improved across the world. He couldn't finish what he set out to do but laid the groundwork for future successors. Just like Roger? Xebec, Joyboy.

WCI had no outsider threats. It was Luffy who ruined it, not the WG.

WB's territories had no outsider threats. It was WB passing away who ruined it.
Yes they did? Big mom talked about how she was constantly dealing with threats because of the era Roger created.

Like cmon now

WCI has been raised by Kuzan, by Luffy, and by Kid, in this reverse order. It has nothing to do with the WG, but with piracy. Maintaining an Elbaf + affiliated nations in the WCI style could've been attainable without alienating either side of the giant population: you let the proud warriors like Loki have a role as defenders, and help the new generations who want an education and a peaceful life choose that.
